Superconductivity emerges from the spatial coherence of a macroscopic condensate of Cooper pairs. Increasingly strong binding and localization of electrons into these pairs compromises the condensate's phase stiffness, thereby limiting critical temperatures - a phenomenon known as the BCS-BEC crossover in lattice systems. In this study, we demonstrate enhanced superconductivity in a multiorbital model of alkali-doped fullerides (AC) that goes beyond the limits of the lattice BCS-BEC crossover.

However, the complexity associated with conducting these trials has resulted in criticism of nutrition and dietary recommendations because the strength and quality of evidence falls short of that for some pharmaceutical interventions. In this paper, we aim to promote greater awareness of the nutrition-related clinical trials that have been conducted showing ASCVD benefits and how this evidence has contributed to dietary recommendations.

Proteomics offers a valuable tool with which to examine different aspects of ultra-processed foods and their impact on health.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to identify protein biomarkers of usual ultra-processed food consumption and assess their relation to the incidence of coronary heart disease (CHD), chronic kidney disease (CKD), and all-cause mortality risk.
Background: While weightbearing computed tomography (WBCT) has been instrumental in analyzing total ankle arthroplasty (TAA) positioning, there is a notable gap in the literature regarding adaptive changes in the foot's medial column after TAA. This study aims to bridge this gap by comparing preoperative and postoperative alignments of the foot's medial column and analyzing if a correlation exists between TAA coronal alignment correction and medial column alignment adaptation.
Methods: Sixty patients who underwent a lateral approach TAA for end-stage osteoarthritis (OA) between January 2021 and April 2023 were included in this retrospective study.
Objectives: The Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet reduces blood pressure, but the mechanisms underlying DASH diet-blood pressure relations are not well understood. Proteomic measures may provide insights into the pathophysiological mechanisms through which the DASH diet reduces blood pressure.
Methods: The DASH (1994-1996) and DASH-Sodium (1997-1999) trials were multicenter, randomized-controlled feeding trials.
Background: Avocado intake improves dietary fat quality, but the subsequent impact on red blood cell (RBC) saturated (SFA), monounsaturated (MUFA), polyunsaturated (PUFA), and trans-fatty acid (TFA) composition and association with cardiometabolic health, has not been elucidated.
Objectives: To compare the effect of consuming 1 avocado/d relative to habitual diet (HAB) on RBC-FA profiles, and their association with visceral adiposity and cardiometabolic risk factors (CMRFs) in individuals with abdominal obesity.
Methods: RBC-FA profiling at baseline, 3- and 6 mo was conducted in participants (n = 994) from the Habitual Diet and Avocado Trial (HAT).
A sedentary lifestyle, low levels of physical activity and fitness, poor dietary patterns, and psychosocial stress are strongly associated with increased morbidity and mortality from atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). Conversely, engaging in regular physical activity, maintaining optimal fitness levels, adhering to a heart-healthy dietary pattern, effectively managing body weight, ensuring adequate sleep, implementing stress-reduction strategies, and addressing psychosocial risk factors are associated with a reduced risk of ASCVD. This comprehensive review synthesizes current evidence from large observational studies and randomized controlled trials on lifestyle factors as determinants of ASCVD health.

Harnessing the spin of single atoms is at the heart of quantum information nanotechnology based on magnetic concepts. By attaching single Co atoms to monatomic Cu chains, we demonstrate the ability to control the spin orientation by the atomic environment. Due to spin-orbit coupling (SOC), the spin is tilted by ≈58° from the surface normal toward the chain as evidenced by inelastic tunneling spectroscopy.
