Aim: To analyze ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) images using random forest network to find new features to make predictions about vault after implantable collamer lens (ICL) implantation.

Methods: A total of 450 UBM images were collected from the Lixiang Eye Hospital to provide the patient's preoperative parameters as well as the vault of the ICL after implantation. The vault was set as the prediction target, and the input elements were mainly ciliary sulcus shape parameters, which included 6 angular parameters, 2 area parameters, and 2 parameters, distance between ciliary sulci, and anterior chamber height.

This study took a consumer sensory perspective to investigate the relationship between taste components and consumers’ preferences and emotions. Abdomen meat (M), hepatopancreas (H), and gonads (G) of Chinese mitten crabs, one from Chongming, the Jianghai 21 variety (C-JH), and two from Taixing, the Jianghai 21 (T-JH) and Yangtze II varieties (T-CJ), were used to evaluate flavor quality. The results indicated that in the abdomen meat, differences in taste components were mainly shown in the content of sweet amino acids, bitter amino acids, K+, and Ca2+; M-C-JH had the highest EUC value of 9.

Speckle noise is ubiquitous in the optical coherence tomography (OCT) image of the anterior segment, which greatly affects the image quality and destroys the relevant structural information. In order to reduce the influence of speckle noise in OCT images, a denoising algorithm based on a convolutional neural network is proposed in this paper. Unlike traditional algorithms that directly obtain denoised images, the algorithm model proposed in this paper learns the speckle noise distribution through the constructed trainable OCT dataset and indirectly obtains the denoised result image.

To investigate the taste quality of gonads of Eriocheir sinensis during frozen storage, the difference in overall taste profile was determined by electronic tongue, and the contents of free amino acids and 5'-Nucleotides were measure. The results showed that the overall taste profile of samples during frozen storage could be effectively distinguished. The contents of free amino acids and 5'-Nucleotides increased with the extension of frozen storage time.

In this study, we develop an alternating current (AC)-induced electro-epoxidation reaction and incorporate it into nanoelectrospray ionization for locating carbon-carbon double-bonds in positively and negatively charged forms of lipids simultaneously. An AC voltage plays multiple roles in this method, including initiation of the electro-epoxidation of carbon-carbon double-bonds in both charged states of lipids and protonation/deprotonation of lipids for detection in both ion modes. Moreover, the rapid switch between native lipids and their electro-epoxidation products can be achieved at different AC voltages.

Most acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) resin is plagued by an unpleasant odor attributed to the high residual volatile organic compound (VOC) content. This paper primarily aimed to solve the odor issue of ABS resin by effectively reducing the VOC content. To that end, a synthesis of ABS resins was optimized through a supercritical extraction process while evaluating multiple novel chain transfer agents (linear dimer of α-methyl-styrene, methyl 3-mercaptopropionate, and dodecyl mercaptan).

In Klebsiella pneumoniae CG43S3, deletion of the response regulator gene rcsB reduced the capsular polysaccharide amount and survival on exposure to acid stress. A comparison of the pH 4.4-induced proteomes between CG43S3 and CG43S3ΔrcsB revealed numerous differentially expressed proteins and one of them, YfdX, which has recently been reported as a periplasmic protein, was absent in CG43S3ΔrcsB.

Objective To observe the treatment effects of chop hook-assisted phacoemulsification surgery in patients with crystalline lens dislocation. Methods Thirty-seven eyes with cataracts and crystalline lens dislocations underwent cataract surgery. An L-shaped chop hook was introduced into the anterior chamber, and the tip was pushed or pulled to the centre of the anterior capsular edge of the zonular dialysis during the cataract operation.

A child suffering from traumatic cataract and corneal astigmatism of 2.14 D had a phacoemulsification operation and implantation of a ReSTOR Toric intraocular lens (IOL) to correct the astigmatism. The primary outcome measurements were the uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA), uncorrected near vision at 40 cm, intraocular pressure, spherical equivalent refraction, residual astigmatism, corneal astigmatism, presence of unusual optical phenomena, and use of spectacles.
