Introduction: Screening potential participants in Alzheimer's disease (AD) clinical trials with amyloid positron emission tomography (PET) is often time consuming and expensive.
Methods: A web-based application was developed to model the time and financial cost of screening for AD clinical trials. Four screening approaches were compared; three approaches included an AD blood test at different stages of the screening process.

The advent of high-resolution imaging has made data on surface shape widespread. Methods for the analysis of shape based on landmarks are well established but high-resolution data require a functional approach. The starting point is a systematic and consistent description of each surface shape and a method for creating this is described.

Resultant reduced calcification and growth, and subsequent dissolution of exoskeletons, would raise concerns over the ability of the shell to provide protection for the marine organism under ocean acidification and increased temperatures. We examined the impact of combined ocean acidification and temperature increase on shell formation of the economically important edible mussel Mytilus edulis.
