Distributed fiber optic sensors (DFOSs) have become increasingly popular for intrusion detection, particularly in outdoor and restricted zones. Enhancing DFOS performance through advanced signal processing and deep learning techniques is crucial. While effective, conventional neural networks often involve high complexity and significant computational demands.

This scoping review was undertaken to understand how elements of the cascade of care for TBI screening and treatment have been implemented in primary care settings globally.
Method: For this review, eight databases were searched, including PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, Global Index Medicus, Scopus, Web of Science, ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global and the Cochrane Library, to examine models of care for TBI screening and treatment in primary care.
Background: Children and families from priority populations experienced significant psychosocial and mental health issues to the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet they also faced significant barriers to service access, particularly families from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. With most child and family health nurse clinics ceasing in-person consultations due to the pandemic, many children missed out on health and developmental checks.

However, in real world clinical practice this phenomenon is under-appreciated by clinicians. Serial BPV measured at clinical visits are frequently considered random fluctuations.

Patients can either be partially (15%) or completely (5%) intolerant to statins. Symptoms of statin intolerance can include muscle aches (myalgia), weakness, cramps, myopathy, diabetes mellitus, and elevated creatine kinase levels.

Aim: This study investigated the effects of iCARE on nursing students' reflective practice, SRL, self-efficacy and skill performance as compared to conventional group reflection.
Trehalose synthase (TreS) catalyzes the reversible interconversion of maltose to trehalose, playing a vital role in trehalose production. Understanding the catalytic mechanism of TreS is crucial for optimizing the enzyme activity and enhancing its suitability for industrial applications. Here, we report the crystal structures of both the wild type and the E324D mutant of trehalose synthase in complex with the trehalose analogue, validoxylamine A.

Enhancing psychological readiness may be a potential strategy to enhance nursing students' transition to the clinical area.
Objective: To evaluate the effects of a psychological readiness enhancement for transition to professional practice program and a 10-week clinical practicum on students' psychological wellbeing, resilience, practice readiness and confidence.
Visit-to-visit (VVV) blood pressure variability (BPV) is associated with cardiovascular disease. However, in practice, BPV at sequential clinic visits is often regarded as mere random fluctuations and frequently under-appreciated by the clinicians. Therefore, this meta-analysis aims to compare the effect size of VVV BPV on cardiovascular outcome, by comparing studies that have used the electronic health record (EHR) and non-EHR data.

Objective: This review aims to identify (1) the design characteristics of conducting a VR-RT and (2) the effects of VR-RT on the user experience, cognitive outcomes and psychological well-being.
Design: Systematic review.
Background: As the use of telemedicine proliferates in community care, it is essential to ensure practice recommendations and guidelines are available to assist healthcare providers in providing telemedicine-based care. This study aimed to develop entrustable professional activities (EPAs) for nursing home nurses involved in telemedicine consultations.
Aim: To develop entrustable professional activities (EPAs) for nursing home nurses involved in telemedicine consultations.
Background: A shift of health care services towards community care has driven the need to develop the community care nursing workforce. However, challenges exist in attracting nursing graduates to a career in community care.
Aim: To examine perceptions of community care and placement preference among undergraduate nursing students across different years of study in a Singapore university.

Background: Copper plays a role in urinary tract infection (UTI) and urinary copper content is increased during Proteus mirabilis UTI. We therefore investigated the effect of copper on uropathogenic P. mirabilis and the underlying mechanisms, focusing on the virulence associated aspects.

Developed countries have grown excessively reliant on them, leading to heightened competition among these countries. Hence, this review aims to uncover factors underlying the retention of Asian IENs in host countries to facilitate the development of more effective staff retention strategies.

Background: The Health eLiteracy for Prevention in General Practice trial is a primary health care-based behavior change intervention for weight loss in Australians who are overweight and those with obesity from lower socioeconomic areas. Individuals from these areas are known to have low levels of health literacy and are particularly at risk for chronic conditions, including diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The intervention comprised health check visits with a practice nurse, a purpose-built patient-facing mobile app (mysnapp), and a referral to telephone coaching.

In Australia, this is the first line of pharmacological therapy for CVD risk management. High-risk patients who do not adhere to lipid-modifying medicines have an increased risk of CVD mortality, hospitalization, and revascularization.

Objectives: To synthesize evidence on the implementation and evaluation of educational escape rooms for healthcare students.
Design: A systematic review.
Data Sources: A search of seven databases including PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Cochrane, EMBASE, CINAHL, and Education Resources Information Center was conducted for published studies from inception to January 2023.
Background: Non-cognitive skills are crucial for nursing students to achieve their academic performance successfully and perform clinical practice effectively. Although different non-cognitive assessment tools have been established in various disciplines, few are focused on nursing students.
Objective: The study aims to develop and psychometrically validate the Non-Cognitive Skills Scale (NCSS) for nursing students.
Fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors applying time-delay interrogators with wavelength swept lasers (WSLs) are popular for their great potentials in high sensing resolution and power budget. In these systems, well-calibrated WSLs with reduced wavelength nonlinearity and jitter are critical for the sensing performance. However, high-performance WSLs are expensive and could significantly increase the cost of the systems.

However, this enhancement came at the cost of requiring an additional HbA1c measurement, thus being unfriendly to users. In this study, the enhanced HbA1c NIBG deep learning model (blood glucose level predicted from PPG and HbA1c) was trained with 1494 measurements, and we replaced the HbA1c measurement (explicit HbA1c) with "implicit HbA1c" which is reversely derived from pretested PPG and finger-pricked blood glucose levels.
