MicroRNA regulation of progesterone receptor in breast cancer.

Hormone receptor status is of significant value when deciding on anti-estrogenic adjuvant therapy for breast cancer tumors. However, while estrogen receptor (ER) regulation was intensively studied, the regulation of progesterone receptor (PR) levels has not been extensively investigated. MicroRNAs (miRNAs, miRs) are post-transcriptional negative regulators of gene expression involved in diverse cellular processes.

Rituximab as monotherapy and in addition to reduced CHOP in children with primary immunodeficiency and non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Children with primary immunodeficiency or chromosomal breakage syndromes are at increased risk of developing non-Hodgkin lymphomas; they cannot tolerate standard chemotherapy regimens. We report two children with diffuse, large, B-cell lymphoma; one had ataxia telangiectasia and one had common variable immunodeficiency. Both were given rituximab, 1 as monotherapy and 1 in combination with a reduced CHOP regimen.

Obstetric risk factors and outcome of pregnancies complicated with early postpartum hemorrhage: a population-based study.

Objective: The study was aimed to identify obstetric risk factors for early postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) in singleton gestations and to evaluate pregnancy outcome.

Study Design: A comparison between consecutive singleton deliveries with and without early PPH was performed. Deliveries occurred during the years 1988-2002 in a tertiary medical center.
