Combined application of mumps and measles vaccine strains in equal doses results in significant decrease of immune response to the former component in humans. It is possible that this phenomenon is related with well-known immunodepressive effect of measles virus, which was demonstrated both in vivo and in vitro. It was previously shown that myelopeptide-2 (MP-2) partially neutralizes suppressive effect of measles vaccine on blast transformation of activated human lymphocytes in vitro.

Myelopeptide-2 (MP-2; Leu-Val-Val-Tyr-Pro-Trp), originally isolated from the supernatant of porcine bone marrow cell culture, is able to restore the mitogen responsiveness of human T lymphocytes inhibited by conditioned medium from HL-60 leukemia cells or measles virus. This effect is based on the ability of MP-2 to recover the reduced interleukin (IL)-2 synthesis and IL-2 receptor (IL-2R) expression in human T lymphocytes treated with these harmful agents. The involvement of other cytokines in MP-2 restoration of the reduced IL-2 synthesis in T lymphocytes is experimentally studied.

Some background mechanisms of the sex hormones changes in blood serum of the male rats under the alimentary loading by cholesterol during 21 weeks were investigated. Results suggested that in the conditions of the cholesterol loading estradiol level in the experimental rats was higher than similar indexes in animals of a control group. In relation to the testosterone level the later was lower during 12 weeks while since 15 week it exceeded the control levels.

Membrane potential of aorta's endothelium, contractile responses of isolated preparation of the abdominal aorta and their modulation with calcium antagonists were studied at hypercholesterinemia (HHS). Membrane potential has been observed to be slightly depolarized at HHS, and acetylcholine-induced electric and contractile responses were shown to be depressed. Calcium antagonists had positive effect on MP, electric and contractile responses of the preparations of the abdominal aorta of rats with HHS.

A dynamics of calcium content in rat brain during endogenic hypercholesterolemia, caused by action of the stressful factor (restriction of vital space (80-100 sm2 per one individual) and high salt diet (2 g/kg)) was studied. It was revealed that under the given conditions there is an increase in calcium content in the brain. Nifedipine (2 mg/ kg per day) significantly reduced calcium content in the brain that has allowed making an assumption of some mechanisms of this phenomenon.

Possible mechanisms of influence of the angiotensinconverting enzyme in the calcigistia dynamics in the aorta and liver and lipid spectrum of the rat blood upon the long-live stress exposure were investigated. It is shown, that the blockade of the angiotensinconverting enzyme leads to the one-type changes of the calcium contents in organs studied, but with different quantity indicators. The contents of general cholesterol and high-density lipoproteins is intimately connected with the calcium contents in liver.

Effects of exogenic and endogenic hypercholesterinemia on morphological structure of aorta and liver were investigated. Both exogenic and endogenic hypercholesterinemia have been shown to induce different morphological changes in tissues of the aorta and the liver which were more expressed at endogenic hypercholesterinemia, as compared to exogenic one. The data obtained suggest that more pronounced impairments in the tissues examined which led to endogenic hypercholesterinemia were the result of a great number of neuroendocrine mechanisms involved in a stressful reaction.

A dynamics of the content of calcium (Ca) in aorta, heart and skeletal muscles was studied in rats exposed to a stress factor for 21 weeks. We observed a 7-fold increase in its content in all the organs examined by the middle of an experiment and its progressive decrease by the 21-st week. It might result from the stages of stress and development of hypercholisterinemia.

The dynamics of calcium content in the liver under alimentary and immobilizing stresses was studied. To evaluate the functional state of the liver we conducted a simultaneous recording of the cholesterin level in the serum. Calcium has been shown to be accumulated in that organ, and it correlated positively with the level of cholesteremia.

Some mechanisms of changing calcium content in brain and liver at alimentary hypercholesteremia were studied. Dynamics of calcium accumulation in tissues of the organs under exploration has proved its contribution to an adaptive reaction of the organism at alimentary stress and reflected peculiarities of its different stages. Similar and simultaneous dynamic changes in calcium accumulation in both organs (liver and brain) seem to be induced by stereotypical pathogenic mechanisms.

Earlier it was determined that inspiration of aerosolized measles vaccines may be as effective as its injection in induction of measles antibodies formation. In the beginning of measles infection the measles virus penetrates through mucosa of nose, mouth or eyes of children. So it seems rational to use a nasal spray of measles vaccine to induce "mucosal immunity" in the nasopharinx.

Mechanisms of suppressive effect of measles and parotitis virus on lymphocyte proliferation and cytolytic activity of natural killers are studied in vitro. Both viruses exert a weak mitogenic effect on human blood lymphocytes and at the same time suppress their response to phytohemagglutinin stimulation in vitro. Suppressive effect of measles virus is more expressed than of parotitis virus.
