Most of the excessive aflatoxins in peanut oil are present at lower levels, and few photocatalysts have been reported for degrading low concentrations of aflatoxin B (AFB). This study employed aptamer-modified magnetic graphene oxide/titanium dioxide (MGO/TiO-aptamer) photocatalysts to degrade low concentrations of AFB in peanut oil, thoroughly investigating their selective efficiency, degradation mechanism, and product toxicity. The results indicated that the modification of aptamers on the surface of photocatalytic materials can enhance the selectivity of photocatalysts for AFB in peanut oil.

In this work, an efficient sensing platform deoxynivalenol (DON) detection was constructed through monitoring the current change of a competitive mechanism triggered by DON, leading the signal label detached from the electrode surface by square-wave voltammetry using thionine (Thi) as a redox indicator. The complementary strand of aptamer (cDNA) and Thi were loaded onto Fe/Ni bimetallic metal-organic framework loaded with sliver nanoparticles (AgNPs@FeNi-MOF) to construct AgNPs@FeNi-MOF/cDNA/Thi signal probes. In the presence of DON, the aptamer sequence was more predisposed to form an aptamer-DON complex, resulting in the displacement of the cDNA.

Background: Tobramycin (TOB), an essential aminoglycoside antibiotic in human life, poses potential threats due to its residues in the environment. The primary concern is the adverse impact of excessive TOB on human kidneys, hearing, and other organs, significantly affecting human health. Constructing a sensitive electrochemical platform for simple and rapid trace detection is crucial.

Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is one of the most common infectious diseases, and its morbidity and mortality increase with age. Resistance and mutations development make the use of anti-infective therapy challenging. Chinese patent medicines (CPMs) are often used to treat CAP in China and well tolerable.

Background: High HLA-DQA1 expression is associated with a better prognosis in many cancers. However, the association between HLA-DQA1 expression and prognosis of breast cancer and the noninvasive assessment of HLA-DQA1 expression are still unclear. This study aimed to reveal the association and investigate the potential of radiomics to predict HLA-DQA1 expression in breast cancer.

The pursuit of novelty can be a challenging experience that often comes with stress. Thinking outside the box can even lead to ethical dilemmas, particularly when innovators are under the pressure to meet deadlines. In this study, we examine creativity as a stress-inducing process, especially when employees encounter setbacks during their pursuit of novelty.

Background: Since 2020, novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has posed serious threats to health systems and led to tremendous economic decline worldwide. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is considered a promising treatment strategy for COVID-19 in China and is increasingly recognized as a key participant in the battle against COVID-19. Clinicians also need accurate evidence regarding the effectiveness of TCM treatments for COVID-19.

Herein, an aptasensor based on Pb dependent DNAzyme driven DNA Walker with the triple amplification signal strategy was developed for ultrasensitive detection of enrofloxacin (ENR). The composite of Au & Pt coated hollow cerium oxide (AuPt@h-CeO), and polyethyleneimine (PEI) functionalized molybdenum disulfide (PEI-MoS) were used as the substrate material to increase the specific surface area of the electrode and attach more DNA probes. In the presence of ENR, the aptamer can break away from the double-stranded structure, releasing DNAzyme capable of cleaving circular RNA with the help of Pb, which in turn will generate a large number of capture probes that bind the signal probes.

In view of the urgent need to determine polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in the environment, we report a simple and sensitive electrochemical aptasensor to detect 3,3',4,4'-tetrachlorobiphenyl (PCB77) based on Exonuclease III-powered Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) walking machine using poly (diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDDA), which was functionalized hollow porous graphitic carbon nitride/ Ni-Co hollow nanoboxes/ Au-Pd-Pt nanoflowers composite material. Upon the addition of PCB77, the specific binding between PCB77 and the aptamer (Apt) could trigger the Exo III-assisted cyclic amplification process and release unlocking probes to deblock the Swing arm/Blocker duplex. Finally, the hybridized hairpin 3 (HP3), a short oligonucleotide, was left on the electrode via Exo III digestion of hybridized HP2, and thus a strong methylene blue (MB) signal was obtained.

A novel enhanced enzyme-linked aptamer assay (ELAA) for the detection of zearalenone (ZEN) was developed based on gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) modified with an aptamer and horseradish peroxidase (HRP). In this assay, the aptamer was used as a recognition probe to competitively bind with coated ZEN-BSA on a microplate and ZEN in samples. AuNPs with high surface areas were used as a carrier to immobilize more amounts of HRP labelled aptamer probe, which can amplify the colorimetric signal by enhancing catalysis of the HRP enzyme compared with the traditional enzyme-linked method.
