A large number of studies have shown that the modification of biochar can greatly improve its adsorption capacity. This study adopts a one-step ball milling technology without solvent medium, using sawdust biochar (600 °C) and attapulgite/diatomaceous earth to prepare MABC10%/MDBC10% (mass ratio: 10% attapulgite/diatomite +90% biochar coabrasive). Characterization experiments show that attapulgite/diatomite was successfully loaded on biochar and has more C/O functional groups and wider adsorption pore sizes.

Background: The volume measurement of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) provides critical information for precise treatment of patients with spontaneous ICH but remains a big challenge, especially for IVH segmentation. However, the previously proposed ICH and IVH segmentation tools lack external validation and segmentation quality assessment.
Purpose: This study aimed to develop a robust deep learning model for the segmentation of ICH and IVH with external validation, and to provide quality assessment for IVH segmentation.
Ferritin-drug conjugates (FDCs) and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) respectively represent the innovative and traditional mainstream approaches in drug delivery systems, each offering unique advantages and challenges. This viewpoint delves into the evolving landscape of drug delivery technologies, specifically focusing on FDCs and ADCs. Each method exhibits unique advantages and inherent challenges, shaping their roles in therapeutic applications.

While various material systems have demonstrated efficacy in supporting CRISPR-Cas13a to execute cellular functions in vitro efficiently and specifically, the development of CRISPR-Cas13a-based therapeutic agents for intravesical instillation in bladder cancer (BCa) remains unexplored.
Methods: In this study, we introduce a CRISPR-Cas13a nanoplatform, which effectively inhibits PDL1 expression following intravesical instillation.
The study of acoustic radiation from spherical sound sources plays a crucial role in understanding the thermoviscous effects in practical acoustic problems. However, finding a general solution of acoustic radiation from spherical sound sources in thermoviscous fluids remains a formidable challenge. To advance this issue, an analytical method is developed in this paper to calculate the acoustic field radiated by spherical sound sources with the isothermal boundary condition and arbitrary velocity boundary condition.

Additionally, the genetic underpinnings of these alterations remain poorly elucidated. We aimed to address these questions in this study to gain better understanding of brain alterations and their underlying genetic factors in schizophrenia.

Capsid assembly modulators (CAMs) have the potential to cure chronic hepatitis B, as demonstrated in clinical trials. Lead compounds NVR3-778 and 5a were found to exist in normal and flipped conformations through induced fit docking. Therefore, we designed and synthesized series I and II compounds by interchanging the amide and sulfonamide bonds of 5a to modify both the tolerance region and solvent-opening region.

However, its precise role in herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1) infection and herpes simplex encephalitis (HSE) remains largely unknown.
Objectives: We aimed to investigate the regulation of mitophagy by HSV-1 neurotropic infection and its role in viral encephalitis, and to identify small compounds that regulate mitophagy to affect HSV-1 infection.
Aims: Cholesterol carried in triglyceride-rich lipoproteins, also called remnant cholesterol, is increasingly acknowledged as an important causal risk factor for atherosclerosis. Elevated remnant cholesterol, marked by elevated plasma triglycerides, is associated causally with an increased risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. However, the association with all-cause mortality and cause-specific mortality is inconclusive.

Background: Clinical research data showed a series of adverse events in the delivery period of primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) patients, including high cesarean section rate. Consensus report proposed that for patients with platelet count below 50 × 10/L, prednisone or intravenous immunoglobulins (IVIg) can be given to raise the platelet count in third trimester in preparation for labor.
Objectives: To evaluate the effect of low-dose prednisone or IVIg therapy on delivery outcomes in patients with ITP.
Carbon materials with defect-rich structure are highly demanded for various electrochemical scenes, but encountering a conflict with the deteriorative intrinsic conductivity. Herein, we build a highway-mediated nanoarchitecture that consists of the ordered pseudographitic nanodomains among disordered highly nitrogen-doped segments through a supramolecular self-assembly strategy. The "order-in-disorder" nanosheet-like carbon obtained at 800 °C (O/D NSLC-800) achieves a tradeoff with high defect degree (21.

Both Old World and New World hantaviruses are transmitted through rodents and can lead to hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome or hantavirus cardiopulmonary syndrome in humans without the availability of specific therapeutics. The square-shaped surface spikes of hantaviruses consist of four Gn-Gc heterodimers that are pivotal for viral entry into host cells and serve as targets for the immune system. Previously, a human-derived neutralizing monoclonal antibody, AH100, demonstrated specific neutralization against the Old World hantavirus, Hantaan virus.
