Multidrug resistance gene 1 (MDR-1) encodes for P-glycoprotein (P-gp) recognized for removing cytostatic drugs from tumor cells. MDR1 gene polymorphisms change function of P-gp. In this study, we are interested in investigating whether MDR1 C1236T single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) affect the susceptibility and treatment-related toxicities in B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL) in the population of eastern China.

With the recent advances in medical technology, the survival period of patients with malignant tumors is prolonged, and the probability of bone metastases is significantly increased. Approximately 70% to 80% of patients with breast or prostate cancer will eventually develop bone metastases.

Recent studies suggest that propolis has obvious neuroprotective properties and functionality in regulating intestinal bacteria flora, hinting at a potential key effect at both terminals of this axis regulation. However, currently no clear evidence confirms the effects of propolis on alcohol-induced depression.

Characterizing gut microbiome profiles of first-onset renal calculi patients, both before and after surgery, may provide valuable insights and identify potential biomarkers for the disease. In this study, we explored the associations between the gut microbiome and renal stone formation using 16S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) gene sequencing.

Nonetheless, the mechanisms of the anti-inflammatory effects of EA are unclear. Cerebral I/R injury was induced in rats by middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO).

However, the existence of metabolically healthy obesity (MHO) indicates that some important factors may participate in protecting individuals with MHO free of NAFLD, even with excessive adiposity. To explore factors independent of obesity that may be involved in the occurrence of NAFLD, we performed an iTRAQ-based proteomic study to identify proteins differentially expressed in serum between NAFLD and MHO subjects.

However, there is still a lack of research focusing on the optimal target population for TUSP. This study aimed to compare the efficacy of TUSP in patients with different prostate volumes or ages.

Memristors will be critical components in the next generation of digital technology and artificial synapses. Researchers are investigating innovative mechanistic understanding of the memristor devices based on low-cost, solution-processable, and organic materials as promising candidates. Here, we demonstrate a novel polyelectrolyte-based memristor device, which is simply prepared by spin-coating poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) and polyethylenimine (PEI) on an indium tin oxide (ITO) substrate followed by a magnetron sputtering of the ITO as the top electrode.

Methods: Review and describe the AEFI reported to national adverse event following immunization surveillance system (NAEFISS) in Zhejiang province from 2017 to 2020. Reporting rates of AEFI were calculated by age, city, severity of AEFI, categories of AEFI, and reaction categories.
Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are highly conserved and ubiquitously expressed noncoding RNAs that participate in multiple reproduction-related diseases. However, the expression pattern and potential functions of circRNAs in the testes of patients with non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA) remain elusive. In this study, according to a circRNA array, a total of 37 881 circRNAs were identified that were differentially expressed in the testes of NOA patients compared with normal controls, including 19 874 upregulated circRNAs and 18 007 downregulated circRNAs.

Thirty-two C57BL/6J mice were assigned randomly to control group, hepatic steatosis group, lovastatin group, and APE group. After 8 weeks of intervention, APE supplementation markedly decreased the body weight gain, liver weight, liver index, epididymal adipose weight, epididymal adipose index, serum, and hepatic lipid levels.

Methods: Adverse events following immunization (AEFI) records associated with Sabin-strains IPV and Salk-strains IPV were extracted from the national AEFI surveillance system (NAEFISS) from 1 May 2016 to 31 December 2020.
Using diverse carbon-centered radical precursors and electron-rich (hetero)aromatics and alcohols as nucleophiles, a visible-light driven chiral phosphoric acid (CPA) catalyzed asymmetric intermolecular, three-component radical-initiated dicarbofunctionalization and oxytrifluoromethylation of enamines was developed, which provides a straightforward access to chiral arylmethylamines, aza-hemiacetals and γ-amino acid derivatives with excellent enantioselectivity. As far as we know, this is the first example of constructing a chiral C-O bond using simple alcohols visible-light photocatalysis. Chiral phosphoric acid played multiple roles in the reaction, including controlling the reaction stereoselectivity and promoting the generation of radical intermediates by activating Togni's reagent.

Even though hundreds of mutations in globin genes have been reported, novel mutations are continuously emerging as the development of DNA sequencing.
Methods: The case is a 27-year-old female with abnormal values of routine hematological indices, who was admitted for genetic screening of thalassemia.
Background: PTEN is one of the most frequently mutated genes in human cancer. Although the roles of canonical PTEN protein and PTEN isoforms have been extensively explored, the current understanding of PTEN family members cannot fully illustrate the diversity of their roles in biological processes and tumor development. Notably, the function of noncoding RNAs arising from PTEN has been less elucidated.
