- Papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) is a type of thyroid tumor that rarely spreads to the skin but, when it does, leads to poor survival rates.
- A patient with scalp metastasis from PTC showed a significant reduction in tumor sizes after receiving three cycles of anlotinib, a medication usually used for other advanced cancers.
- Anlotinib continued after surgery further decreased tumor size, suggesting it could effectively treat similar cases of cancer metastasis in the future.
Purpose: The present study discussed the effects of accidental parathyroid resection on hypoparathyroidism and investigated the risk factors associated with accidental parathyroid resection.
Methods: Clinical data from patients who have undergone thyroidectomy at a university hospital in the period from November 2018 and October 2020 were entered into the database and analyzed. Risk factors for accidental parathyroid resection were recorded.
