To observe the effect of shikonin on the proliferation, migration, adhesion and invasion of rheumatoid arthritis(RA) fibroblast like synoviocytes induced by tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), and to explore its mechanism of action from aspects of protein kinase B(Akt) and mitogen activated protein kinase(MAPK) signaling pathways. - The study investigated the impact of Fengshi Qutong Capsules (FSQTC) on angiogenesis in normal rat aorta rings and in the knee joint of rats with collagen-induced arthritis (CIA), using various methods to measure blood vessel growth.
- Results showed that FSQTC significantly decreased blood vessel growth in aorta rings induced by VEGF, and also reduced vascular density and certain markers (like CD31) in the inflamed synovial membrane of CIA rats.
- While FSQTC affected the formation of immature blood vessels, it did not significantly influence mature blood vessels, suggesting it may selectively inhibit angiogenesis in specific contexts.
