Objectives: This study aimed at exploring a new tooth development evaluation method for age assessment and investigating the dynamic alteration and potential trend of tooth development by orthopantomograms (OPGs), in order to provide references for tooth development prediction and forensic purpose.
Materials And Methods: A total of 132 OPGs of children aged 3-8 years were collected. The developmental stages of the permanent mandibular second molar (M2)were evaluated by experienced examiners according to the Nolla method and Mimics software, respectively.
BACKGROUND The aims of the study were to comprehensively compare the morphology, immunophenotype, proliferation, migration, and regeneration potential of normal dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) versus inflammatory dental pulp stem cells (iDPSCs). MATERIAL AND METHODS Healthy pulp or inflamed pulp tissue was used to isolate and culture DPSCs and iDPSCs, respectively. These cell populations were characterized by flow cytometry, colony formation assay, transwell assay, and multi-directional differentiation in vitro.

Methods: After acidic culture for different periods, methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) method was adop-ted to detect the cell proliferation of SCC15 and CAL27. Flow cytometry was employed to detect the apoptosis level of SCC15 and CAL27 cells.
Background: Current cariology education based on the traditional teaching method faces a lot of challenges. Meanwhile, the COVID-19 pandemic caused an unprecedented disruption in medical education and health care systems worldwide. Innovation in the teaching mode of cariology education is required to change the situation.

Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is one of the causes of cancer-related death worldwide. The abnormal proliferation ability of OSCC has become one of the major reasons for its poor prognosis. FK-506 binding protein 11 (FKBP11) is abnormally expressed in malignant tumors and affects many biological processes.

Our previous study confirmed that the cyclic mechanical stimulation (CMS) inhibited the proliferation of RA FLSs, but the underlying mechanisms are still unclear. This study aimed to investigate these underlying mechanisms.

Most studies focused on the expression patterns of AMEL through the bud, cap, and bell stages. The spatial-temporal expression of AMEL protein during different mineralization stages, especially from presence of crypts to crown completed stages, remains unknown.

Tooth developmental stage evaluation is important in dental and chronological age estimation, and it is important for accurate diagnoses and appropriate treatment in dental practice. It is routinely assessed by clinical observations and radiographic techniques. This study aimed at ascertaining tooth developmental stage judgments made by examiners and Mimics software according to the Nolla method with radiographs.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the potency of optical coherence tomography (OCT) to detect early occlusal caries compared with clinical visual examination.
Methods: Approximately 97 sites of occlusal fissures on 77 extracted accessional human teeth were scored by three examiners using conventional visual examination and OCT. Results of histological examination on these sites obtained by polarimicroscope served as a gold standard to analyze the sensitivity (SE), specificity (SP), positive predictive value (PPV), and negative predictive value (NPV).
Objective: This study aimed to construct a eukaryotic expression vector pEGFP-N1-EMP1 of epithelial mem-brane protein 1 (EMP1) and investigate its influence on migration and invasion of human oral tongue squamous carcinoma cells.
Methods: The human EMP1 gene was amplified by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and then ligated into the pEGFP-N1 vector by double restriction endonuclease digestion to construct pEGFP-N1-EMP1 recombinant plasmid. After sequencing identification, pEGFP-N1-EMP1 recombinant plasmid and pEGFP-N1 plasmid were transfected into human oral tongue squamous carcinoma Tb3.
Objective. To investigate the frequency and influencing factors of rubber dam usage for endodontic procedures among general dentistry practitioners and specialized practitioners (endodontist) in Tianjin. Methods.

Objective: To explore the efficacy of optical coherence tomography (OCT) in imaging and quantitatively evaluating early enamel caries and provide experimental evidence for the clinical diagnosis of early caries.
Methods: The smooth surface of bovine teeth showing early artificial caries and demineralization changes was scanned by an all fiber-based OCT for images and optical profiles, which were compared with images from a polarized light microscope (PLM) and mineral loss from an atomic absorption spectrometer. Data were analyzed by paired-sample t-test and Pearson correlation analysis using SPSS software.
A novel and efficient palladium-catalyzed intramolecular oxidative cyclization of tertiary enamines for the synthesis of 1,3,4-trisubstituted pyrroles and 1,3-disubstituted indoles has been developed. Trifluoroacetic acid plays an important role in the reaction. A series of pyrroles and indoles with substitution patterns that are not easily accessible by traditional routes were synthesized in good yields under mild conditions.
