UVB irradiation induces diverse modalities of regulatory cell death in keratinocytes. Recently, the pattern of coexistence of pyroptosis, apoptosis, and necroptosis has been termed PANoptosis; however, whether PANoptosis occurs in keratinocytes in UVB-induced skin injury remains unclear. We observed that the key molecules of GSDMD-mediated pyroptosis, apoptosis, and necroptosis, which are N-terminal GSDMD, cleaved caspase-3/PARP, and phosphorylated MLKL, respectively, were elevated in keratinocytes of UVB-challenged mice and human skin tissue.

Objectives: This study aimed to elucidate the role of high-fat diet (HFD) on pain sensitivity and postoperative pain, and determine the potential effects of modulating branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) intake on pain phenotypes.
Background: Musical hallucinations (MH) involve the false perception of music in the absence of external stimuli which links with different etiologies. The pathomechanisms of MH encompass various conditions. The etiological classification of MH is of particular importance and offers valuable insights to understand MH, and further to develop the effective treatment of MH.

The plant-specific IQ67 DOMAIN (IQD) family proteins serve as microtubule-associated proteins, playing multifaceted roles in plant development and response to abiotic stress. However, the biological function of genes in apple remains unclear.

The accumulation of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) in DRG has been implicated in mechanical allodynia and thermal hyperalgesia, but the exact mechanism is not fully understood. This study aimed to explore how BCAA catabolism in DRG modulates pain sensitization.

The TPE-DHAB complex exhibits typical aggregation-induced emission properties and a unique helical supramolecular structure. Moreover, the generation and handedness inversion of circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) can be achieved through further chiral solvation, providing a facile approach to fabricate room-temperature liquid crystalline materials with controllable supramolecular structures and tunable CPL properties through a synergistic strategy of ionic self-assembly and chiral solvation process.

Triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index was a simple indicator of metabolic status and a surrogate marker of insulin resistance. This study aimed to explore the relationship between NAFLD and TyG index in snoring patients.

This study aimed to explore the effects and potential mechanisms underlying Lig's protective role against DOX-induced cardiotoxicity.
Methods: C57BL/6 mice were treated with DOX.

Objective: To analyze the factors that might influence the pregnancy rate in patients with infertility related to endometriosis (EMs) after undergoing laparoscopic surgery, providing guidance for our clinical diagnostic and therapeutic decision-making.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on clinical records and 1-year postoperative pregnancy outcomes of 335 patients diagnosed with endometriosis-related infertility via laparoscopic surgery, admitted to our department from January 2018 to December 2020.
Results: The overall pregnancy rate for patients with endometriosis (EMs) related infertility 1-year post-surgery was 57.
Purpose: Chronic intermittent hypoxia (CIH) related arterial endothelium injury is a common cause of cardiovascular system injury. However, the mechanism still needs to be clarified. In this study, we aimed to clarify the role and mechanism of ferrostatin-1 (Fer-1) in CIH-related rat arterial endothelial cells (ROAEC) ferroptosis.

While epidermal keratinocytes can initiate GSDME-mediated pyroptosis, the role of keratinocyte GSDME in psoriatic dermatitis remains poorly characterized. Through analysis of GEO datasets, we found elevated GSDME levels in psoriatic lesional skin.

Purpose: Circular RNA (circRNA) plays an important role in various biological processes. However, their functions in cigarette smoke extract (CSE) induced human normal lung epithelial cells (BEAS-2B) injury remain vague. The study aimed to explore circRNA expression profiles and reveal their potential roles in CSE-treated BEAS-2B cells.

An NP rat model was established using the CCI method and the NP severity was evaluated by paw withdrawal threshold (PWT) and paw withdrawal latency (PWL). The expression of SNHG5, CDK9, and SCN9A was quantified in rat dorsal root ganglion, in addition to the detections of apoptosis, pathological changes, neuron number, and the co-localization of Nav1.

Objective: Our study explored the function of DOT1L in osteoporosis (OP) via the microRNA (miR)-181/KAT2B/SRSF1 axis.
Methods: Osteoclast (OC) number was evaluated via TRAP staining, and serum CTXI, PINP, and ALP contents were tested by ELISA. Following identification of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs), OC differentiation was induced by M-CSF and RANKL, followed by the detection of OC differentiation and the expression of bone resorption-related genes, DOT1L, miR-181, KAT2B, and SRSF1.
Impaired branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) catabolism has recently been implicated in the development of mechanical pain, but the underlying molecular mechanisms are unclear. Here, we report that defective BCAA catabolism in dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons sensitizes mice to mechanical pain by increasing lactate production and expression of the mechanotransduction channel Piezo2. In high-fat diet-fed obese mice, we observed the downregulation of PP2Cm, a key regulator of the BCAA catabolic pathway, in DRG neurons.

Gasdermin D (GSDMD)-mediated pyroptosis has a significant pro-inflammation characteristic due to dramatic secretion of pro-inflammatory substances. However, its role remains unclear in psoriasis as one chronic inflammatory skin disorder with high prevalence. We found that N-terminal GSDMD (N-GSDMD) was aberrantly expressed in epidermis of skin lesion in psoriasis patients and imiquimod-induced psoriasis-like dermatitis (IIPLD) mice.
