Objective: Liver transplant (LT) is a definitive therapeutic option for patients with chronic liver disease. However, acute kidney injury after LT (post-LT AKI) is a frequent complication that may lead to graft dysfunction and decrease life expectancy. Delay in AKI detection by traditional biomarkers boosted research with new biomarkers for post-LT AKI as neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) and syndecan-1.

Background And Objectives: Malignant hyperthermia (MH) is a pharmacogenetic skeletal muscle disorder characterized by a hypermetabolic state after anesthesia with succinylcholine and/ or volatile anesthetics. Various neuromuscular syndromes are associated with susceptibility; however, Moebius syndrome has not been reported. Dantrolene is the drug of choice for treatment.

Castleman's disease accompanied by pleural effusion.

Castleman's disease is a rare disorder of the lymphoid tissue. We report the case of a female patient with bilateral otosclerosis, no respiratory symptoms, and pleural effusion discovered as an incidental finding on a chest X-ray. Computed tomography of the chest revealed a mediastinal mass.
