Unlabelled: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurological condition that causes brain shrinkage and cell death. This study aimed to identify the role of the NORAD/miR-26b-5p axis in AD. StarBase was used to examine the binding sequences of miR-26b-5p to LncRNA NORAD or its target genes, which were verified by a double luciferase reporter assay.

Cholangiocarcinoma is a malignant tumor that emerges in the intrahepatic or extrahepatic bile ducts. Doramectin (DOR), a third-generation derivative of avermectins (AVMs), is renowned for its low toxicity and high efficiency. However, no research has hitherto focused on the anti-cholangiocarcinoma effects of these drugs.

Ocean acidification (OA) and other environmental factors can collectively affect marine organisms. Deltamethrin (DM), a type II pyrethroid insecticide, has been widely detected in coastal and estuarine areas, while little attention has been given to the combined effects of DM and OA. In this study, Haliotis discus hannai was exposed to three pH levels (8.

Advances in adaptive immunity have greatly contributed to the development of cancer immunotherapy. However, its over-low efficacy and insufficient invasion of immune cells in the tumor tissue, and safety problems caused by cytokine storm, have seriously impeded further clinical application for solid tumor immunotherapy. Notably, the immune microenvironment of the lungs is naturally enriched with alveolar macrophages (AMs).

Background: Miscarriage has the characteristics of recurrent attacks and complex etiology, so it is gradually attracted the wide attention of scholars in the fields of reproduction. Potential association between gut microbiome (GM) and pregnancy disorders has been investigated. Jianwei Shoutai pills (JWP), as a representative formula, have been proven to have protective effect in both clinical and experimental research in miscarriage.

Nano-zinc oxide (ZnO NPs), as widely used nanomaterials, are inevitably released into aquatic environments, posing potential threats to aquatic organisms. Mytilus galloprovincialis is a bivalve species sensitive to changes in marine ecological environments, but there has been limited research on its toxicity response to ZnO NPs. Therefore, we selected M.

In this study, a potassium ferrate (KFeO)-modified biochar (Fe-BC) was prepared and characterized. Afterwards, Fe-BC was applied to activated periodate (PI) to degrade tetracycline (TC), an antibiotic widely used in animal farming. The degradation effects of different systems on TC were compared and the influencing factors were investigated.

Objective: To perform molecular diagnosis and pedigree analysis for one case with α-thalassemia who does not conform to the genetic laws, and explore the effects of a newly discovered rare mutation () on clinical phenotypes.

Methods: Blood samples of the proband and her family members were collected for blood routine analysis, and the hemoglobin components were analyzed by capillary electrophoresis. The common α- and β-globin gene loci in Chinese population were detected by conventional techniques (Gap-PCR, RDB-PCR).

Type I interferon (IFN-I) is a potent immune modulator intricately involved in regulating tumor immunity. Meanwhile, the integrity of the IFN-I signaling pathway is essential for radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy. However, the clinical application of IFN-I remains challenging due to its non-specific cytotoxicity and limited half-life.

Infrared thermal imaging is a passive non-contact detection and identification technology, which is not subject to electromagnetic infection and good concealment, is widely used in military and commercial fields. However, due to the limitations of the existing infrared imaging system mechanisms, the spatial resolution of the acquired infrared images is low and the edge details are blurred, which in turn leads to poor performance in downstream missions based on infrared images. In this paper, in order to better solve the above problems, we propose a new super-resolution reconstruction framework for infrared images, called DBFE, which extracts and retains abundant structure and textual information for robust infrared image high-resolution reconstruction with a novel structure-textual encoder module.

Macins are a family of antimicrobial peptides, which play multiple roles in the elimination of invading pathogens. In the present study, a macin was cloned and characterized from Pacific abalone Haliotis discus hannai (Designated as HdMac). Analysis of the conserved domain suggested that HdMac was a new member of the macin family.

The quantification of illicit drugs in wastewater has become a valuable tool for monitoring illicit drug abuse. The commonly utilized methods for detecting drugs in wastewater require a substantial sample volume, extended pretreatment durations, and intricate procedures. This study first employed polydopamine-coated magnetic nanocomposites as adsorbents for magnetic solid-phase extraction, combined with UPLC-MS/MS, to simultaneously determine the concentrations of eleven common illicit drugs in wastewater.

Background: To explore whether postoperative atrial fibrillation (POAF) has an impact on the incidence of late atrial fibrillation (AF) and late ischemic stroke after isolated coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) compared to non-POAF patients.

Methods: A total of 243 eligible patients were followed for five years, and divided into a POAF group (n = 69) and a non-POAF group (n = 174). The primary end point was the incidence of late AF, and late ischemic stroke.

Objective: Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) regulate cancer cell senescence in many cancers. However, their specific involvement in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) remains unclear. We are looking for an ingenious prognostic signature that utilizes senescence-related lncRNAs (SRlncRNAs) to predict prognosis and provide insights into the immune landscape in HNSCC.

Background: Immunogenic cell death (ICD) has been categorized as a variant of regulated cell death that is capable of inducing an adaptive immune response. A growing body of evidence has indicated that ICD can modify the tumor immune microenvironment by releasing danger signals or damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs), potentially enhancing the efficacy of immunotherapy. Consequently, the identification of biomarkers associated with ICD that can classify patients based on their potential response to ICD immunotherapy would be highly advantageous.

This review summarizes recent advances of deep eutectic solvents (DESs) in sample preparation and determination methods of pesticides in food, environmental, and biological matrices since 2019. Emphasis is placed on new DES categories and emerging microextraction techniques. The former incorporate hydrophobic deep eutectic solvents, magnetic deep eutectic solvents, and responsive switchable deep eutectic solvents, while the latter mainly include dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction, liquid-liquid microextraction based on in-situ formation/decomposition of DESs, single drop microextraction, hollow fiber-liquid phase microextraction, and solid-phase microextraction.

The innate immune system plays a critical role in the host response against pathogenic microbial infection. However, aberrant activation of the innate immune pathways is a characteristic feature of various diseases. Thus, targeted drugs must be developed based on the understanding of the innate immune signaling pathways.

Background: SETD2 protects against genomic instability via maintenance of homologous recombination repair (HRR) and mismatch repair (MMR) in neoplastic cells. However, it remains unclear whether SETD2 dysfunction is a complementary or independent factor to microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H) and tumor mutational burden-high (TMB-H) for immunocheckpoint inhibitor (ICI) treatment, and little is known regarding whether this type of dysfunction acts differently in various types of cancer.

Methods: This cohort study used multidimensional genomic data of 6726 sequencing samples from our cooperative and non-public GenePlus institute from April 1 through April 10, 2020.
