Ethnopharmacological Relevancy: Danggui Niantong Decoction (DGNTD) is a traditional Chinese medicine compound formula that has been demonstrated to possess efficacy in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis (OA), as well as for dispelling moisture and relieving pain. As mentioned before, DGNTD is essential for synovial inflammation in RA. The primary features of the OA synovial membrane are low-grade inflammation, hyperplasia with enhanced fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLS) proliferation, and fibrosis, which can cause pain and stiffness.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a complex neurodevelopmental disorder and its underlying neuroanatomical mechanisms still remain unclear. The scaled subprofile model of principal component analysis (SSM-PCA) is a data-driven multivariate technique for capturing stable disease-related spatial covariance pattern. Here, SSM-PCA is innovatively applied to obtain robust ASD-related gray matter volume pattern associated with clinical symptoms.

In this study, ultrasound-assisted glycated ovalbumin (G-UOVA) based on natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES) was prepared using response surface optimization. The binding affinity of (-)-gallocatechin gallate (GCG) to native OVA (NOVA), ultrasound treated OVA (UOVA), glycated OVA (GOVA), and G-UOVA followed G-UOVA > GOVA > UOVA > NOVA. The effects of various modifications and GCG binding on the secondary structure, particle size, and thermal stability of NOVA were investigated.

Sulfurized polyacrylonitrile (SPAN) presents an opportunity to replace elemental sulfur as a "shuttle-free" cathode for secondary Li-S batteries, which can be an ideal choice for stationary energy storage due to its abundance, low cost, and sustainability. The electrolyte options for the state-of-the-art SPAN batteries have been limited to the flammable carbonate and ether ones, which raises safety concerns. Here, we explored the use of a non-flammable acetonitrile (AN) electrolyte for SPAN battery for the first time and identified the irreversible cleavage of C-S bonds of SPAN as the main reason for the failure of SPAN in AN electrolyte.

3'-Sialyllactose (3'-SL), a key component of human milk oligosaccharides, provides significant health benefits and immune modulation, and is increasingly used in infant formula and dietary supplements. This study presents a novel approach for the efficient biosynthesis of 3'-SL using BL21star(DE3)Δ through genomic integration. We first addressed the issue of metabolic competition by deleting crucial genes, , , , and , that are involved in the degradation of -acetylneuraminic acid.

Background: Atypical sensory processing is a prevalent feature of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and constitutes a core diagnostic criterion in DSM-5. However, the neurocognitive underpinnings of atypical unimodal and multimodal sensory processing and their relationships with autism symptoms remain unclear.

Methods: In this study, we examined intrinsic functional connectivity (FC) patterns among 5 unimodal sensory and multisensory integration (MSI) networks in ASD using a large multisite dataset (N = 646) and investigated the relationships between altered FC, atypical sensory processing, social communicative deficits, and overall autism symptoms using correlation and mediation analyses.

To investigate the causal relationship between rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and interstitial lung disease (ILD) in the East Asian population, we utilized Mendelian randomization (MR). Publicly available summarized data from genome-wide association studies on RA (4199 cases and 208,254 controls), and the data on ILD (1046 cases and 176,974 controls) were obtained from BioBank Japan. Eligible single nucleotide polymorphisms from East Asian populations were obtained from genome-wide association studies as instrumental variables, and 11 RA-related single nucleotide polymorphisms (P < 5 × 10-8) were selected as instrumental variables.

Human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) are a structurally complex group of unbound polysaccharides, representing the third-largest solid component in breast milk. They play a crucial role in the intestinal health and immune system development of infants. Sialylated HMOs, including 3'-sialactose (3'-SL) and 6'-sialactose (6'-SL), are major components of HMOs, playing significant roles in immune regulation, anti-inflammatory processes, and promotion of probiotic growth.

Ni-rich LiNi Co Mn O (NCM+ + = 1, ≥ 0.8) layered oxide materials are considered the main cathode materials for high-energy-density Li-ion batteries. However, the endless cracking of polycrystalline NCM materials caused by stress accelerates the loss of active materials and electrolyte decomposition, limiting the cycle life.

Graphite-based lithium-ion batteries have succeeded greatly in the electric vehicle market. However, they suffer from performance deterioration, especially at fast charging and low temperatures. Traditional electrolytes based on carbonated esters have sluggish desolvation kinetics, recognized as the rate-determining step.

Superionic halides have attracted widespread attention as solid electrolytes due to their excellent ionic conductivity, soft texture, and stability toward high-voltage electrode materials. Among them, LiInCl has aroused interest since it can be easily synthesized in water or ethanol. However, investigations into the influence of solvents on both the crystal structure and properties remain unexplored.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a behaviorally defined complex neurodevelopmental syndrome characterized by persistent social communication and interaction deficit. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a promising and emerging tool for the intervention of ASD by reducing both core and associate symptoms. Several reviews have been published regarding TMS-based ASD treatment, however, a systematic review on study characteristics, specific stimulating parameters, localization techniques, stimulated targets, behavioral outcomes, and neuroimage biomarker changes is lagged behind since 2018.

The solid-state battery with a lithium metal anode is a promising candidate for next-generation batteries with improved energy density and safety. However, the current polymer electrolytes still cannot fulfill the demands of solid-state batteries. In this work, we propose a "5H" poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) electrolyte via introducing a multifunctional additive of tris(pentafluorophenyl)borane (TPFPB) for high-performance lithium metal batteries.
