Background: To identify the predictive parameter among preoperative measurements that best predicts postoperative visual outcome in the epiretinal membrane (ERM).
Methods: Thirty-three consecutive patients with idiopathic unilateral ERM patients between 2015 and 2018 were enrolled. Nineteen healthy normal eyes were selected as an independent age-matched group.
Background: Renal epithelium lesions can cause renal cell carcinoma. This kind of tumor is common among all renal cancers with poor prognosis, of which more than 70% belong to kidney renal clear cell carcinoma. As the pathogenesis of KIRC has not been elucidated, it is necessary to be further explored.

We have investigated 40 PBL patients retrospectively, and 16 of them were sequenced by a target panel of 112 genes related with lymphoma. Next-generation sequencing (NGS) identified 203 mutations spanning 35 genes and revealed seven potential protein-changing genes (PIM1, MYD88, DTX1, CD79B, KMT2D, TNFAIP3, and ITPKB) with high frequency, referring crucial roles in lymphomagenesis.

This study aimed to investigate the disaster law in the process of mining slope excavation, and further explore the optimal selection of excavation angle. Based on the systematic analysis of the residual sliding force and deformation response characteristics during slope excavation, the increment of the residual sliding force increases and the stability coefficient decreases with the increase in excavation depth.

Methods: Bioinformatics was used to analyze the levels of micro-RNAs (miRNAs) in the serum of intracranial aneurysm patients as well as in the intracranial aneurysm tissues downloaded from the GEO RNA-seq database.
Excess body weight and hyperlipidaemia cause severe health problems and have social implications. Amycenone is an active substance extracted from Yamabushitake mushrooms with no reports of its activity against excess body weight and hyperlipidaemia. This research clarifies the effects and mechanisms of action of amycenone on the inhibition of body weight excess and hyperlipidaemia attenuation using KK- mice.

However, the association between PTSD, stigmatization and certain related factors have not been confirmed.
Methods: Through cluster random sampling, 946 Chinese graduates were investigated from 5 universities in Shanghai at three months after China lifted its coronavirus lockdown.
Although attachment security has been found to attenuate people's experience of unpleasant information, how it modulates the attentional process toward such information remains unknown. The present study examined this issue by employing the dot-probe task in functional MRI. After completing the Experiences in Close Relationships-Revised questionnaire (ECR-R), 39 participants were asked to complete the dot-probe task in two conditions: the attachment security priming condition and neutral priming condition.

Lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries are widely considered to be next-generation storage technologies due to their high energy density, low cost and non-toxicity. However, the soluble lithium polysulfides (LiPS) migrating to the anode side inevitably causes side reactions with the Li anode, resulting in severe corrosion of the Li anode, loss of active materials, and rapid battery failure. Therefore, it is necessary to develop effective strategies to avoid LiPS exposure to Li anodes.

Methods: A total of 67,538 students completed one online survey between April 21st and May 12th, 2021. Current PLEs were assessed using the 8-item Positive Subscale of the Community Assessment of Psychic Experiences (CAPE-P8).
Alternative splicing of Drosophila Dscam1 into 38,016 isoforms provides neurons with a unique molecular code for self-recognition and self-avoidance. A canonical model suggests that the homophilic binding of identical Dscam1 isoforms on the sister branches of mushroom body (MB) axons supports segregation with high fidelity, even when only a single isoform is expressed. Here, we generated a series of mutant flies with a single exon 4, 6, or 9 variant, encoding 1,584, 396, or 576 potential isoforms, respectively.

Background And Aim: There remains lots of unknowns for small intestinal mucosal breaks (SIMBs). The application of magnetic controlled capsule endoscope (MCCE) may provide a better understanding of SIMBs. The aim of our study was to investigate the prevalence and characteristics of SIMBs in the general population as well as risk factors for SIMBs other than aspirin.

As an excellent adsorption material, hydrogel is widely used in the field of water treatment but is rarely used in cementitious materials. In this study, a polyacrylamide-chitosan hydrogel (PAMC) was prepared with N,N-methylenebisacrylamide as the cross-linking agent and acrylamide as the monomer.

The use of precision medicine for UM to enable personalized diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment require the development of computer-aided strategies and predictive tools that can identify novel high-confidence susceptibility genes (HSGs) and potential therapeutic drugs. In the present study, a computational framework via propagation modeling on integrated multi-layered molecular networks (abbreviated as iUMRG) was proposed for the systematic inference of HSGs in UM.

To address these questions, we collected 4,189 published goat DNA sequences including 1,228 sequences from 57 breeds in China and 2,961 sequences including 193 goat breeds from 71 other countries and carried out an integrated analysis. We found goat breeds from South China had the highest genetic diversity of lineage B, and subclades B2 only were found in Southwest China, suggesting that lineage B (particularly, subclade B2) probably originated from Southwest China and its surrounding areas.

Here carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were employed as a conductive skeleton to optimize the electrocatalytic performance of CoSe through a simple one-step hydrothermal method. Beyond the expected, the introduction of CNTs not only accelerates electron transportation and ion diffusion, but also improves the reaction kinetics for HER by forming a CoSe/CNT heterointerface.

Here, we purposefully selected phenotypically reversible temperature-sensitive (TS) p53 mutations for pharmacological rescue with thermostability as the compound-screening readout. This rational screening identified antiparasitic drug potassium antimony tartrate (PAT) as an agent that can thermostabilize the representative TS mutant p53-V272M via noncovalent binding.

Most ECDs are coated with an electrochromic material on the transparent conductive oxide (TCO) substrate. A novel electrochromic device (ECD), having a variable optical performance, was prepared by using tungsten foil as a substrate in this study. It was found that the WO discoloration layer, having a monoclinic phase crystalline structure made of 600 °C calcined, had optimum charge transmission performance with PADA gel polymer electrolyte.
