Background: The relationships of fruit and vegetable (FV) intake with sleep quality and stress among nurses with different working status are largely unknown. This study aimed to assess the FV intake among Hong Kong female nurses with varying working status and evaluate its associations with sleep quality and stress levels.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey named "Hong Kong Women's Health Study" was conducted between 2019 and 2020.
The leaf economics spectrum (LES) has been proposed as a framework for understanding leaf resource-investment and plant growth strategies, but it is scarcely examined in mangrove communities. This study investigates LES patterns in mangrove communities to examine whether the trait coordination spectrum, if it exists, is associated with plant growth strategies. By conducting a comprehensive sampling across a wide range of mangrove species in China, we confirmed the presence of LES across mangrove species, and found that true mangroves generally exhibit a more conservative strategy characterized by higher leaf mass per area (LMA) and lower leaf nutrient concentrations compared to mangrove associates.

The scale may provide theoretical basis and evidence for identifying the pathways to enhance health behaviours and optimise health management strategies.
Methods: The initial constructs and items of the scale were developed through literature review, qualitative analysis and Delphi expert consultation based on the socio-ecological model.
Background: Intensive care unit-acquired weakness is a prevalent complication among critically ill patients, associated with heightened mortality rates, extended durations of mechanical ventilation and hospital stays, as well as diminished mobility and unfavorable prognoses. Early diagnosis of intensive care unit-acquired weakness and identification of its subcategories are essential for early implementation of targeted interventions and care strategies. Nevertheless, there remains a significant gap in the availability of widely accepted, accurate, and user-friendly diagnostic tools for intensive care unit-acquired weakness.

Numerous investigations have shown that protein phosphorylation modification enzymes (PPMEs) that regulate protein phosphorylation play an important role in the occurrence and treatment of tumors. However, there is still a lack of effective insights into the value of PPMEs in the classification and treatment of patients with lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD).

Considerable attention has been focused on identifying effective targets for inhibiting damage to endothelial cells to treat endotoxemia-induced septic shock. Global gasdermin D (Gsdmd) deletion reportedly prevents death caused by endotoxemia.

However, current MGRC approaches are limited by their disjoint two-stage process, where the graph structure is learned in the first stage before the GNN messages are propagated in the subsequent stage. Additionally, current approaches neglect the importance of cross-view structural consistency and semantic-level information and only consider intra-view embeddings.

It is not clear whether efficacy varies by age or sex.
Objective: To assess whether age or sex are associated with differences in the efficacy of SGLT2 inhibitors, GLP-1 receptor agonists, and DPP4 inhibitors.
Objective: To analyze the influencing factors of early-onset preeclampsia (EOPE). And to construct and validate the prediction model of EOPE using machine learning algorithm.
Study Design: Based on Python system, the data profile of 1040 pregnant women was divided into 80% training set and 20% test set.
Endometrial cancer (UCEC) is the most prevalent gynecological malignancy in high-income countries, and its incidence is rising globally. Although early-stage UCEC can be treated with surgery, advanced cases have a poor prognosis, highlighting the need for effective molecular biomarkers to improve diagnosis and prognosis. In this study, we analyzed mRNA and miRNA sequencing data from UCEC tissues and adjacent non-cancerous tissues from the TCGA database.

Methods: A comprehensive and systematic search was conducted in Pubmed, Cochrane, Embase, and Web of Science up to July 02, 2024. The quality of the studies included was assessed.
Aim: To cross-culturally adapt the Knowledge about Atrial Fibrillation and Stroke Prevention Questionnaire (KAFSP-Q) for Chinese AF patients and validate its effectiveness.
Design: Instrument adaptation and cross-sectional validation.
Methods: The KAFSP-Q was translated into Chinese by using the forward and back translation method.
Herein, we synthesized anisotropic silica nanoparticles (AISNPs) with organic amines with different structures. Monoamines and diamines with distance between amine groups shorter than4 Å have been observed to facilitate the formation of isotropic silica nanoparticles (ISNPs). AISNPs were synthesized with diamines with distance between amine groups longer than4 Å and linear structures of triamines.

We tested the hypothesis that unsupervised ML approach utilizing EMR could be used to develop a new model for detecting prevalent CVD in clinical settings.
Methods: We included 155,894 patients (aged ≥ 18 years) discharged between January 2014 and July 2022, from Xuhui Hospital, Shanghai, China, including 64,916 CVD cases and 90,979 non-CVD cases.
Background: Glycated albumin (GA) levels have been considered as a promising biomarker for estimating glycemic control during pregnancy, but the relationship between GA levels and the incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) remains unclear. Our study aimed to investigate the relationship between GA levels during the third trimester and 13 different adverse pregnancy-related outcomes among women with GDM in China.
Methods: We retrospectively extracted clinical data from the medical records of 819 pregnant women with GDM who underwent prenatal examinations and child delivery at the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University between January 2022 and October 2022.
In light of the escalating concerns regarding climate change and environmental decline, major nations are actively exploring strategies to mitigate environmental harm and achieve future sustainability. The surge in economic expansion in developed economies is linked to an increase in CO emissions. Consequently, in their pursuit of carbon-neutral policies, these countries are increasingly turning towards renewable energy as a means to enhance resource conservation and efficiency.

This study explores the role of Metformin in mitigating partial EMT in SG inflammation. In vitro, human salivary gland epithelial cells (hSGECs) were treated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and Metformin.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFetal electrocardiogram (FECG) contains crucial information about the fetus during pregnancy, making the extraction of FECG signal essential for monitoring fetal health. However, extracting FECG signal from abdominal electrocardiogram (AECG) poses several challenges: (1) FECG signal is often contaminated by noise, and (2) FECG signal is frequently overshadowed by high-amplitude maternal electrocardiogram (MECG). To address these issues and enhance the accuracy of signal extraction, this paper proposes an improved Cycle Generative Adversarial Networks (CycleGAN) with integrated contrastive learning for FECG signal extraction.

A comparative study was performed to investigate the physicochemical properties and protective effects of hydrochloric acid-resistant dextrin (H-RD), citric acid-resistant dextrin (C-RD) and tartaric acid-resistant dextrin (T-RD) on the metabolic disorders and intestinal microbiota for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) mice. T-RD had the minimum molecular weight, with the highest short chain (DP 6-12) proportion and resistant starch content. After 4-week intervention with the three resistant dextrins, the body weight and fasting blood glucose of T2DM mice were improved significantly, accompanied by the reduction of serum indexes (TG, TC, LDL-C, ALT, AST, CRE, BUN, FINS, and GSP), but the serum HDL-C and liver glycogen levels increased.
