Long non-coding (lnc)RNA maternally expressed gene 3 (MEG3) has been proved to participate in osteoporosis, which features inverse pathological changes to those associated with spondylosis. The present study aimed to investigate the involvement of lncRNA MEG3 in ankylosing spondylitis. Blood and open sacroiliac joint biopsies were obtained from ankylosing spondylitis patients and healthy controls, and the expression of MEG3 in those tissues was detected by reverse-transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction analysis.

Objective: To investigate the associations between maternal exposure to DBPs during late pregnancy and ultrasound measures of fetal growth.
Background: Frailty is a syndrome of impaired physiologic reserve and decreased resistance to stressors and can often be seen in high-risk patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Preoperative frailty status is thought to be related to adverse outcomes after TAVR. We conducted this systematic review and meta-analysis to determine the impact of preoperative frailty status on outcomes among patients after TAVR.

Purpose: To investigate the molecular mechanisms governing aquaporin-1 (AQP1)-mediated, mifepristone-induced angiogenesis and improve the understanding of low-dose mifepristone serving as an anti-implantation contraceptive drug.
Methods: Human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were used to explore the effects of different concentrations of mifepristone (0, 65, and 200 nmol/L) on the activity of angiogenesis. Forty-five pregnant mice during the "window of implantation" were treated with different concentrations of mifepristone.
Oncolytic virotherapy is one of promising tumor therapy modalities. However, its therapeutic efficacy is still limited due to the immunogenicity and poor tumor-targeting capability. In this report, an engineered oncolytic vaccinia virus (OVV) was constructed by site-specifically introducing azide groups to the envelope of OVV during the in situ assembling process of virions.

However, the diversity of microbial PAMPs is little known. During screening of cell-death-inducing factors from the necrotrophic fungus Valsa mali, we identified a novel PAMP VmE02 that is widely spread in oomycetes and fungi.

Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2), an important factor in the cellular defense against oxidative stress, is activated following TBI.

The structures of the new steroids were elucidated by comprehensive spectroscopic analysis and by comparison with previously reported data. Compound 1 showed potent protection against HO-induced oxidative damage in neuron-like PC12 cells by promoting nuclear translocation of Nrf2 and enhancing the expression of HO-1.

However, low efficiency and survival in MSC homing to injured lung tissue remains to be solved. Therefore, the aim of this study was to assess whether large intergenic noncoding RNA (LincRNA)-p21 promote MSC migration and survival capacity through hypoxic preconditioning in vitro.

However, no epidemiologic study to date has evaluated the relation of trihalomethanes exposure with neonatal neurobehavioral development. Here we aimed to evaluate if prenatal exposure to THMs during early pregnancy is associated with neonatal neurobehavioral development in 451 Chinese mother-child pairs.

Renal ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury triggers proximal tubule injury and the mitochondria are believed to be the primary subcellular target of I/R injury. The promotion of mitochondrial biogenesis (MB) is critical for the prevention I/R injury.

We conducted a randomized, double-blinded, active controlled trial, in which 1760 participants were randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to receive one dose of either the test vaccine or the control commercial vaccine. The surveillance period was 28 days.

A series of co-assemblies with different weight ratios (Py-Phe-Glu/SP-Phe-Glu) were prepared and the morphology could be tuned. It is found that the resulting stable co-assembled organogel is double switchable triggered by light and heat.
