Background: Internet-delivered transdiagnostic psychological interventions are promising approaches for the treatment of anxiety and depression. This study aimed to review and synthesize evidence related to the effectiveness of Internet-based transdiagnostic interventions for reducing anxiety and depression, and to compare the effects of universal versus tailored interventions.

Methods: A Systematic review search was conducted on the PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, PsychINFO, Medline, and CINAHL databases as of 28 March 2024.

Effectiveness of information technology-based cognitive behavioral therapy on depression and anxiety symptoms among older adults: Systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Depression and anxiety are prevalent among older adults. However, most older adults have poor access to age-specific mental health services. While Information technology-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (ICBT) has shown promise as an accessible alternative to face-to-face interventions, its effectiveness specifically within the older adults warrants further investigation.

Effects of coexisting goethite or lepidocrocite on Fe(II)-induced ferrihydrite transformation pathways and Cd speciation.

The efficacy of ferrihydrite in remediating Cd-contaminated soil is tightly regulated by Fe(II)-induced mineralogical transformations. Despite the common coexistence of iron minerals such as goethite and lepidocrocite, which can act as templates for secondary mineral formation, the impact of these minerals on Fe(II)-induced ferrihydrite transformation and the associated Cd fate have yet to be elucidated. Herein, we investigated the simultaneous evolution of secondary minerals and Cd speciation during Fe(II)-induced ferrihydrite transformation in the presence of goethite versus lepidocrocite.

Data Monitoring Committee Reports: Telling the Data's Story.

A Data Monitoring Committee (DMC) plays a pivotal role in monitoring participant safety and efficacy and overseeing the integrity of clinical trials. DMCs accomplish this mission by periodically reviewing accumulating data to assess benefits and harms of interventions in ongoing studies and making subsequent recommendations regarding future clinical trial conduct to the trial sponsor. Reports summarizing data from the clinical trial are prepared for the DMC by statistical and data analysis centers to inform DMC decision-making.

Association between the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index and stroke risk in Chinese normal-weight adults: a population-based study.

Background: Identifying high-risk populations and promoting stroke prevention measures can be achieved through studies on stroke and its risk factors. As a new alternative indicator of insulin resistance (IR), the triglyceride glucose (TyG) index may potentially increase stroke risk. However, the evidence confirming this association is inadequate and inconsistent, possibly due to variations in stroke assessment criteria or characteristics of the study populations.

Adverse effects of methylphenidate for apathy in patients with Alzheimer's disease (ADMET2 trial).

Objectives: To examine clinically important adverse events (AEs) associated with methylphenidate (MPH) treatment of apathy in Alzheimer's Disease (AD) versus placebo, including weight loss, vital signs, falls, and insomnia.

Methods: The Apathy in Dementia Methylphenidate Trial 2 (ADMET2) trial was a multicenter randomized, placebo-controlled trial of MPH to treat apathy in individuals with apathy and AD. Participants in ADMET2 had vital signs and weight measured at monthly visits through 6 months.

Exploring amyotrophic lateral sclerosis patients' experiences of psychological distress during the disease course in China: a qualitative study.

In this study, an integrated technique for the treatment of AMD was proposed. The technique started with pre-oxidation followed by Fe(0) reduction and alkali-regulated biomineralization and then ended with lime neutralization.

Effects of Tai Chi on depression of middle-aged and older adults: an updated systematic review and meta-analysis.

Aim: The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of Tai Chi, a mind-body movement therapy originating from China, on depression in middle-aged and older adults.

Methods: A systematic search was conducted in seven databases (Embase, Cochrane, Medline, Wanfang, SinoMed, Weipu date, CNKI) for Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) published until Apr 16, 2023. The quality assessment, heterogeneity analysis, subgroup analysis, and sensitivity analysis of 12 RCTs selected from the literature were performed.

Objective: The popularization of the internet provides the possibility to improve the depressive symptoms (DS) and social isolation of middle-aged and older adults with functional disability. There was a significant correlation between internet use and DS in middle-aged and older adults with functional disability, but the relationship between internet use, social isolation, and DS remains to be confirmed.

Methods: Data were obtained from 7,955 middle-aged and older adults aged 45 years and older from the 2018 China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS).

A MOF-Based Potent Ferroptosis Inducer for Enhanced Radiotherapy of Triple Negative Breast Cancer.

Radiotherapy (RT) is one of the important clinical treatments for local control of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), but radioresistance still exists. Ferroptosis has been recognized as a natural barrier for cancer progression and represents a significant role of RT-mediated anticancer effects, while the simultaneous activation of ferroptosis defensive system during RT limits the synergistic effect between RT and ferroptosis. Herein, we engineered a tumor microenvironment (TME) degradable nanohybrid with a dual radiosensitization manner to combine ferroptosis induction and high- effect based on metal-organic frameworks for ferroptosis-augmented RT of TNBC.

Development and validation of a genomic nomogram based on a ceRNA network for comprehensive analysis of obstructive sleep apnea.

Some ceRNA associated with lncRNA have been considered as possible diagnostic and therapeutic biomarkers for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). We intend to identify the potential hub genes for the development of OSA, which will provide a foundation for the study of the molecular mechanism underlying OSA and for the diagnosis and treatment of OSA. We collected plasma samples from OSA patients and healthy controls for the detection of ceRNA using a chip.

Analysis of long noncoding RNAs and messenger RNAs expression profiles in the hearts of mice with acute viral myocarditis.

Acute viral myocarditis (AVMC) is a common acute myocardial inflammation caused by viral infections, which can lead to severe cardiac dysfunction. Several long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) with aberrant expression have been identified in the pathogenesis of AVMC. However, the expression profiles and functions of lncRNAs in AVMC have not been fully elucidated.
