Herein, a nitrogen-embedded quintuple [7]helicene () with an azapentabenzocorannulene core, which can be considered to be a helicene/azacorannulene hybrid π-system, was synthesized from azapentabenzocorannulene in a three-step process. is the first example of a multiple helicene with an azabuckybowl core. Single-crystal X-ray diffractometry unambiguously confirmed the structure of the propeller-shaped hybrid π-system.

Article Synopsis
  • Organic photovoltaics (OPVs) are nearing a power conversion efficiency of 19%, leading to a stronger focus on improving their long-term stability, which is crucial for practical applications.
  • The study introduces graphene oxide nanosheets (GNS) modifications, including N-doped (N-GNS) and N,S-doped (NS-GNS), which enhance the OPVs' thermal and photostability by optimizing energy-level alignment and morphology.
  • The NS-GNS device shows significant performance improvement (from 14.5% to 16.5% efficiency) and exceptional stability, with a lifespan of 2712 hours under heat and 2000 hours under light exposure, demonstrating its potential for durable solar energy solutions.

To evaluate the diagnostic value of a high-throughput gene targeted amplicon sequencing (TAS) assay for detecting pathogenic microorganisms in alveolar lavage fluid (ALF) from children with severe community-acquired pneumonia (SCAP). A retrospective study was performed on 48 frozen ALF samples from 47 severe pneumonia cases admitted to Children's Hospital of Fudan University from January 1, 2019, to March 31, 2019. All samples were tested by a multiplex PCR (Multi-PCR) assay and a TAS assay.

Liver transplantation has emerged as a vital therapy for end-stage liver diseases. Acute -phase inflammation play an important role in liver graft injury.Recent studies have revealed that inflammasome are responsible for initiating inflammation in early stage of acute organ rejection in liver transplantation, however the underlying mechanism remains unclear.

Objective: Rotavirus is the single most common cause of severe dehydrating diarrhea in young children worldwide, but the pathogenesis and immunity against this disease are not completely understood. A prospective study was conducted to assess gene expression of toll-like receptors (TLR) in children with acute rotavirus diarrhea.

Methods: Seventy-five children with acute rotavirus diarrhea and 38 control children were enrolled in this study from Sep.
