Homeodomain-containing gene 10 (HOXC10) belongs to the homeobox family, which encodes a highly conserved family of transcription factors that plays an important role in morphogenesis in all multicellular organisms. Altered expressions of HOXC10 have been reported in several malignancies. In situ alkylation or protonation reactions on the thiazolyl-N donors of benzothiazole (btz) and its derivative 2-aminobenzothiazole (abtz) occurred to form four structure directing agents (SDAs), which feature different structure directing abilities and hydrophobicities. The thiazolyl-N alkylated and protonated btz cations direct to form an α-type (AgI) iodoargentate chain in (Etbtz)(AgI) (1), (Prbtz)(AgI) (2), and (Hbtz)(AgI) (3), respectively, while the thiazolyl-N protonated abtz cation directs to form a new type of (AgI) anionic chain in (Habtz)(AgI) (4). Compounds 1 and 4 represent the first noncentrosymmetric (NCS) hybrid iodoargentates with organic S-containing N-heterocycle derivative cations as SDAs.

Polymer solar cells (PSCs) with ZnO electron transporting layer has been widely studied because ZnO has superior electron transport capability and high light transmittivity. Solvothermal reactions of AgI with the vulcanization accelerator 2,2'-dibenzothiazolyl disulfide and hydroiodic acid in alcohols afford two hybrid iodoargentates with one-dimensional structures, namely (Etmbt)[AgI] (1, Hmbt = 2-mercaptobenzothiazole) and {(Hmbt)[AgI]} (2). The syntheses of both 1 and 2 involve unprecedented multiple in situ reactions. Specifically, a simultaneous disulfide bond cleavage, N and S donor atoms bialkylation, and self-assembly reaction lead to 1 that contains a discrete N,S-biethylated cation (Etmbt) and a rare inorganic (AgI) anionic chain, while a simultaneous disulfide bond cleavage, N-protonation and self-assembly reaction affords 2 which features zwitterionic Hmbt molecules coordinating with the opposite side Ag atoms of a neutral inorganic (AgI) chain via forming Ag-S coordination bonds.

The B-cell receptor (BCR) signaling pathway serves an important role in the pathogenesis of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), and has been identified as a novel and effective therapeutic target of CLL, with particular focus its kinase factor, BTK. Previous studies have focused on combining the BTK inhibitor with additional chemotherapeutic agents to improve the prognosis of patients with CLL. To study the effects of berberine on the gene mRNA expressions of BMP4 transcriptional pathways and brown/white adipose tissue conversion transcriptional pathways in visceral white adipose tissues(VWAT) in type 2 diabetic hamsters and explore the relevant mechanisms. The obese insulin-resistant hamster model were induced by using high-fat diet, and then the type 2 diabetic hamster model was created through injection with low-dose streptozotocin in the obese insulin-resistant hamster model. Two novel metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) [Cd3(padc)(Hpadc)(H2padc)(H2O)]n·nH2O (1, H3padc = pyrazole-3,5-dicarboxylic acid) and [Co4(pidc)2(Hpidc)4(H2O)3]n·12nH2O (2, H2pidc = pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylic acid), that both crystallize in polar space groups, were solvothermally synthesized by using achiral N,O-coordinated ligands. Compound 1 consists of trinuclear Cd(II)-based units that are further bridged by the backbone of H3padc ligands to form a three-dimensional (3-D) (4,6)-connected fsc topology network, while compound 2 features two types of double-helical tubes with different chiralities connecting with each other alternatively to construct a typical 2-D (3,6)-connected kgd topology network. Importantly, 1 exhibits combined properties of photoluminescence (PL) and second harmonic generation (SHG), and represents the first noncentrosymmetric H3padc-based MOF that was obtained without any ancillary ligands.

Human cervical cancer oncogene (HCCR) was identified by differential display RT-PCR by screened abnormally expressed genes in cervical human cancers. The overexpressed gene is not only identified in cervical tissues, but also in various human cancers as leukemia/lymphoma, breast, stomach, colon, liver, kidney and ovarian cancer. For its special sensitivities and specificities in human breast cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma, it is expected to be a new biomarker to replace or combine with the existing biomarkers in the diagnose.

To investigate the kinship between the Inner Mongolia pandemic strain and representative strains of the Jaagsiekte sheep retrovirus (JSRV), total DNA from the lung tissue of a JSRV-infected sheep in Inner Mongolia was used to clone fragments of gag, pro and pol genes. The recombinant plasmid pMD-JSRV (including complete genomic sequence of the JSRV strain isolated from Inner Mongolia) was constructed by linking all the cloned fragments with long terminal repeat (LTR) and env gene fragments (cloned previous and reserved by our research team). Sequence analyses revealed that the genome was 7690 bp in length and contained several typical molecular markers for exogenous form of JSRV.

Aim: To investigate the effect of amniotic membrane covering (AMC) on the healing of cornea epithelium and visual acuity for fungal keratitis after debridement.
