Objective: To explore the mechanism of acupuncture to relieve diabetic proteinuria in Diabetic Kidney Disease (DKD).
Methods: A total of 10 male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly selected as the negative control group (NC), and a further 30 rats were fed a high-fat diet (HFD) and intraperitoneal streptozotocin (STZ). The DKD model rats in the model group (DKD) and the acupuncture group (DKD + Acu) were randomly assigned.
In recent years, soil salinization in the Yellow River Delta under the effects of hydrology, climate and human activities have become increasingly prominent. Based on the 20 Landsat series images of Hekou, Kenli, Dongying districts and Lijin County of Dongying City selected from 1985 to 2018, numerical regression correction method was used to perform image spectral consistency conversion. The partial least squares regression method was used to construct quantitative inversion models of soil salt content.

Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of needling technique (acupuncture for regulating spleen and stomach) on diabetic gastroparesis (DGP), and to explore its possible mechanism.
Methods: A total of 128 patients with DGP were randomized into an observation group (64 cases, 4 cases dropped off) and a control group (64 cases, 4 cases dropped off). On the basis of intervention on controlling blood glucose by western medication, needling technique was adopted at Zhongwan (CV 12), Zusanli (ST 36), Yinlingquan (SP 9), Xuehai (SP 10), Sanyinjiao (SP 6), Diji (SP 8), etc.
Objective: To observe the clinical therapeutic effect of "Tiaoshen Zhitong" (mental regulating and pain relieving) needling and its influence on serological indicators in the treatment of post-stroke shoulder pain, so as to provide new therapeutic thoughts and approach for post-stroke shoulder pain.
Methods: A total of 80 inpatients with post-stroke shoulder pain were randomly divided into a control group (routine needling, 39 cases) and an observation group ("Tiaoshen Zhitong" needling, 41 cases) according to the random number table. Patients of the two groups accepted basic medication treatment including anticoagulants, hypotensive drugs, hypoglycermic drugs, lipid-lowering drugs, etc.

Evolution and progression of cancer always leads to CD8 T cells dysfunction/exhaustion. Controversy remains as to the role of Notch signaling pathway in CD8 T cells regulation in tumorigenesis. Thus, the aim of this study was to investigate the immunomodulatory activity of Notch signaling pathway to peripheral and lung-resident CD8 T cells in patients with lung adenocarcinoma.

With remote sensing images from 1985, 2000 Lantsat 5 TM and 2015 Lantsat 8 OLI as data sources, we tried to select the suitable research scale and examine the temporal-spatial diffe-rentiation with such scale in the Nansihu Lake wetland by using landscape pattern vulnerability index constructed by sensitivity index and adaptability index, and combined with space statistics such as semivariogram and spatial autocorrelation. The results showed that 1 km × 1 km equidistant grid was the suitable research scale, which could eliminate the influence of spatial heterogeneity induced by random factors. From 1985 to 2015, the landscape pattern vulnerability in the Nansihu Lake wetland deteriorated gradually.

Objectives: This study employed proteomic profiling to identify specific tumor markers that might improve early diagnosis of lung squamous cell carcinoma.
Methods: Serum samples were isolated from 30 patients with stage I lung squamous cell carcinoma and 30 age-and gender-matched healthy controls, and proteomic profiles were obtained by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time of flight mass spectrometry.
Results: Three highly expressed potential tumor markers were identified in the sera of stage I lung squamous cell carcinoma patients, with molecular weights of 3261.

Objective: To study the feasibility of the bi-level positive airway pressure (BiPAP) non-invasive ventilator used in home mechanical ventilation for long-term tracheostomy-mechanical ventilation (TMV) in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
Methods: Sixteen patients (12 men and 4 women, mean age 59 years) with ALS were selected for this study at Respiratory Department of the Shougang Hospital, Peking University from January 2002 to March 2008. After the disease had been controlled by anti-infective therapy and comprehensive treatment, the patients received TMV, through the improved ("Xiang's" connection) non-invasive BiPAP ventilator connected with tracheotomy tube, and on-going home mechanical ventilation (HMV).
Objective: To evaluate the long term efficacy and safety of long term home noninvasive positive pressure ventilation (HNPPV) in stable hypercapnic patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Methods: Forty patients with stable severe COPD [arterial PaCO2>or=55 mm Hg (1 mm Hg=0.133 kPa)] after hospital discharge were divided into 2 groups: the HNPPV group (n=20) with conventional therapy and HNPPV, and the control group (n=20) with conventional therapy only.

Objective: To investigate the prognosis of moderate chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in the elderly patients, and to evaluate the factors for long term survival.
Methods: From May 1993, a prospective cohort study was carried out, in which 191 elderly patients with moderate COPD were recruited in Shougang communities, Shijingshan District, Beijing. The general health state, arterial blood gas, pulmonary function test, electrocardiograph, chest X-ray and 6-minute-walk test (6MWT) were recorded.
