Background Chorionic histiocytic hyperplasia (CHH) is a cellular proliferation at the base of the chorion that was identified by the authors in examining placentas for chronic chorioamnionitis (CC). This study is a retrospective review of cases diagnosed with CHH, describing its incidence alone and with associated lesions, and the immunophenotype of lesional cells. Design In this retrospective study, a laboratory information system search over a 34-month period using the key phrase "chorionic stromal" was performed.

Early detection of epidermal growth factor receptor () mutation, particularly T790M mutation, is of clinical significance. The aim of the present study was to compare the performances of amplification refractory mutation system-based quantitative polymerase chain reaction (ARMS-qPCR) and droplet digital polymerase chain reaction (ddPCR) approaches in the detection of mutation and explore the feasibility of using ddPCR in the detection of samples with low mutation rates. gene mutations in plasmid samples with different T790M mutation rates (0.

Eosinophilic/T-cell chorionic vasculitis (ETCV) is an inflammatory lesion of placental fetal vessels. In contrast to acute chorionic vasculitis, inflammation in ETCV is seen in chorionic vessel walls opposite the amnionic surface. It is not known whether inflammation in ETCV consists of maternal cells from the intervillous space or fetal cells migrating from the vessel.

Objective: To investigate the role of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) in bladder cancer (BCa) progression.

Materials And Methods: The gene copy number of PPARγ in human BCa tissue samples was analyzed by fluorescence in situ hybridization. The migration and invasive ability of human BCa cell lines with different PPARγ expression levels or treated with thiazolidinedione-rosiglitazone, a PPARγ agonist and an antidiabetic drug, were investigated.

Objective: To investigate the alteration on the expression levels of protein and messenger RNA (mRNA) of aquaporin-8 (AQP8) in the hepatocytes of pregnant rats with intrahepatic cholestasis induced by ethinylestradiol.

Methods: A total number of 20 15-day pregnant rats were randomly divided into two groups: control group, intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) group. In ICP group, rats were subcutaneously injected with ethinylestradiol (2.

Amplification/duplication of the BCR-ABL gene has been found to be one of the key factors leading to drug resistance to imatinib mesylate (IM). In the present study, we used G-banding to identify the presence of de novo identical isodicentric chromosomes in IM-resistant patients. Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) analysis on interphase nuclei confirmed the heterogeneity and amplification of the fused BCR-ABL gene.

We recently identified THY-1 as a putative tumor suppressor gene for human ovarian cancer. To understand the carcinogenic role of THY-1, and its downstream effects on cancer cells, a THY-1 inducible system was established in the human ovarian cancer cell line SKOV-3 based on the tetracycline (tet) regulating system. To establish an inducible system for Thy-1 expression, two plasmids, pUHD172-1neo and pTEP4mThy-1, which are neomycin and hygromycin resistant were co-transfected into the ovarian carcinoma cell line, SKOV-3.
