Article Synopsis
  • Tumor mutational burden (TMB) is studied as a biomarker for patient prognosis in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), analyzing its relationship with immune cell infiltration.
  • The research involved classifying DLBCL patient samples from The Cancer Genome Atlas into high and low TMB groups, identifying differentially expressed genes (DEGs), and using various databases to discover immune-related biomarkers associated with TMB.
  • Findings indicate that a higher TMB correlates with poorer survival outcomes and identifies 13 immune genes linked to TMB, suggesting a complex interaction between genetic mutations and patient prognosis in DLBCL.

P53 prognostic cut-off values differ between studies of mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), and its immunohistochemistry (IHC) interpretation is still based on semiquantitative estimation, which might be inaccurate. This study aimed to investigate the optimal cut-off value for p53 in predicting prognosis of patients with MCL and the possible use of computer image analysis to identify the positive rate of p53. We calculated p53 positive rate using QuPath software and compared it with the data obtained by manual counting and semiquantitative estimation.

Diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is a group of biologically heterogeneous tumors with different prognoses. The tumor microenvironment plays a vital role in the tumorigenesis and development of DLBCL, and activated memory CD4 T cells are an essential component of immunological cells in the lymphoma microenvironment. So far, there are few reports about activated memory CD4+T cells infiltration and related genes in the DLBCL tumor microenvironment.

The genus Allium is one of the largest monocotyledonous genera, containing over 850 species, and most of these species are found in temperate climates of the Northern Hemisphere. Furthermore, as a large number of new Allium species continue to be identified, phylogenetic classification based on morphological characteristics and a few genetic markers will gradually exhibit extremely low discriminatory power. In this study, we present the use of complete chloroplast genome sequences in genome-scale phylogenetic studies of Allium.

Article Synopsis
  • Extranodal natural killer (NK)/T-cell lymphoma, nasal type (ENKTL-N) is an aggressive cancer diagnosed through small biopsies, but flow cytometry could improve its detection and classification.
  • A study on 26 ENKTL-N biopsy samples identified seven key flow cytometry characteristics to differentiate cancerous cells from reactive NK-cells.
  • The findings suggest that flow cytometry is a valuable tool for routine diagnosis, confirming cancer types, and tailoring treatments for patients with ENKTL-N.
