To clarify the response mechanism of exogenous paclobutrazol on drought resistance in seedlings, we investigated the effects of spraying different concentrations of paclobutrazol (25, 50, 100 mg·L) on the photosynthetic and antioxidant systems of 2-year-old seedlings under drought stress using natural drought method. The results showed that drought stress significantly reduced the photosynthesis and broke the dynamic balance of antioxidant system in seedlings. Spraying with different concentrations of paclobutrazol effectively alleviated the negative impacts of drought stress, and enhanced the defense capability of photosynthetic and antioxidant systems, with the 100 mg·L paclobutrazol treatment being the most effective.

During the oilfield development process, various factors can cause different types of reservoir damage, leading to reduced oil well production or even shutdown, and decreased water injection capacity in water wells, resulting in significant economic losses for the oilfield. However, formation damage control measures must be based on the quantitative diagnosis of the types and degrees of reservoir damage. This paper establishes a spatiotemporal evolution numerical model for 12 common types of damage during the oil and gas exploration and development process, based on the material balance theory and Fick's diffusion law in reservoir damage processes.

Article Synopsis
  • Cervical cancer (CC) affects women globally, and while extensive research has been conducted on its development at various biological levels, there has been limited focus on post-translational modifications (PTMs) in understanding CC progression.
  • This study compared PTM levels between normal cervical tissues and CC tissues, identifying that pan-acetylation was significantly decreased in cancer samples, while the acetylation of PARP1 at K119 was notably increased.
  • Overexpressing PARP1-WT reduced cancer cell proliferation and impacted specific signaling pathways, particularly decreasing p-ERK1/2 levels, indicating that the acetylation of PARP1 at K119 plays a crucial role in regulating the progression of cervical cancer.

Article Synopsis
  • - Angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels, is crucial for the growth and spread of colorectal cancer (CRC), but the specific mechanisms involved are not fully understood, particularly regarding the role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in this process.
  • - Researchers discovered that CRC cells can secrete a specific miRNA called N-72, which is present at high levels in the serum of CRC patients and helps promote endothelial cell migration and new blood vessel formation.
  • - The study revealed that miRNA N-72 is delivered to endothelial cells through exosomes, disrupting their junctions and enhancing angiogenesis, suggesting it could be a promising therapeutic target and biomarker for CRC.

Piezo1 channel is a mechanosensitive ion channel that opens in response to shear stress, tension, torsion and a series of mechanical stimulation and turns them into biological signals. It plays an important role in vascular development, vasoconstriction and vasodilation, formation of arterial and venous valves, blood pressure regulation and red blood cell homeostasis, and thus is closely related to cardiovascular system. Recent studies have shown that traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) compounds and their active components can affect Ca~(2+) influx and endothelial cell and platelet function by mediating Piezo1 channel, and regulate thrombosis and endothelial homeostasis, thereby treating cardiovascular diseases.
