A Rare Combined Injury in Children during Side Impact: The Possible Mechanism and Treatment Results.

Objective: Proximal humeral fracture combined with contralateral midshaft clavicle fracture is an extremely rare injury in children. Few studies focus on the injury mechanism and treatment scheme. The aim of this study is to propose the possible mechanism of this injury and present the treatment results.

Possible Mechanism and Treatment Results of Combined Pediatric Fractures of the Humeral Lateral Condyle and Ipsilateral Ulnar Olecranon.

Objective: Combined fractures of the lateral condyle of the humerus and the ipsilateral ulnar olecranon are rarely seen in children. Therefore, the mechanism and suitable treatments remain debatable. This study describes the possible mechanism of combined humeral lateral condyle and ipsilateral ulnar olecranon fractures and presents the treatment results.

[Analysis of theoretical basis and clinical application of dog-days moxibustion].

The present situation of the clinical application of dog-days moxibustion (moxibustion applied in the three periods of the hot season) is summarized so as to provide the guide for the theoretic study and clinical application of dog-days moxibustion. The intervention time of dog-days moxibustion is on the 1st day of each of the three periods of the hot season. Simultaneously, the geographic factors are considered.

Numb confers to inhibit epithelial mesenchymal transition via β-catenin/Lin28 signaling pathway in breast cancer.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate role of Numb in the epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) of breast cancer.

Methods: Numb and β-catenin were inhibited in MCF-7 cells using sh-RNA and overexpressed in T47D cells by pcDNA3.0-Numb, pcDNA3.

An epidemiological analysis of paediatric burns in urban and rural areas in south central China.

Objective: This study aims to analyse the epidemiology of paediatric burns in south central China, illustrate the differences between rural and urban areas, and discern prevention measures to reduce paediatric burns.

Methods: Data were obtained from all paediatric patients admitted to Department of Burns unit of Xiangya Hospital during 2009-2012. A retrospective review was performed, including cause of burn, pre-hospital treatment, place of burn occurrence, anatomical areas involved, extent of burn, date of injury, number of operations, complications, length of hospital stay, hospitalisation cost and cure rate.

Interleukin-2 gene polymorphisms and prognosis of breast cancer.

Breast cancer is the most common malignancy in women. Interleukin-2 (IL-2) plays a key role in the proliferation of T cells and natural killer cells. It has been reported that polymorphisms in the IL-2 gene are associated with various cancers.
