Background: Entecavir (ETV), tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF), and tenofovir alafenamide(TAF) are first-line nucleos(t)ide analogs (NUCs) with chronic hepatitis B (CHB). This study aimed to assess the renal safety profile in NUC-experienced CHB patients who received ETV, TDF or TAF therapy.
Methods: This retrospective observational cohort study investigated factors related to renal function in 154 patients with NUC-experienced CHB who received ETV, TDF, and TAF therapy for 48 weeks.
Purpose: Both preoperative frailty and postoperative delirium (POD) are associated with higher risk of postoperative complications. But it is unclear if the effect of preoperative frailty on postoperative complications was mediated by POD.
Methods: This study was a mediation analysis of a pooled database.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of the International Ovarian Tumor Analysis (IOTA) simple rules combined with contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in differentiating benign from malignant adnexal masses.
Methods: This retrospective study included 179 patients with adnexal masses who underwent pre-operative ultrasound. The IOTA simple rules were applied first, followed by CEUS for inconclusive or suspicious cases.

Lymph node metastasis is an important biological feature of oral squamous cell carcinoma, bearing poorly prognostic implications. However, the role of lymph node metastasis in cancer progression remains inconclusive. On the one hand, lymph nodes are pivotal sites for initiating specific immunity, which is crucial for maintaining antitumor immune response.

This study undertakes a comprehensive analysis of the risk factors influencing postoperative recurrence in patients with middle- to late-stage colon cancer and subsequently develops a columnar graphical prediction model based on these findings. This model seeks to enhance the capability of identifying the risk of postoperative recurrence in patients with intermediate and advanced colon cancer, thereby providing a scientific foundation for the development of more personalized and effective prevention and management strategies.

This study aims to assess immune response levels and safety in SLE patients following respiratory virus vaccines.
Methods: Extensive searches, until 1 March 2024, were conducted using PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library.
Study Objective: To assess the association of intraoperative hypotension with long-term survivals in older patients after major noncardiac surgery mainly for cancer.
Design: A secondary analysis of databases from three randomized trials with long-term follow-up.
Setting: The underlying trials were conducted in 17 tertiary hospitals in China.
Spinal stenosis (SS) is frequently caused by spinal ligament abnormalities, such as ossification and hypertrophy, which narrow the spinal canal and compress the spinal cord or nerve roots, leading to myelopathy or sciatic symptoms; however, the underlying pathological mechanism is poorly understood, hampering the development of effective nonsurgical treatments. Our study aims to investigate the role of co-expression hub genes in patients with spinal ligament ossification and hypertrophy. To achieve this, we conducted an integrated analysis by combining RNA-seq data of ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) and microarray profiles of hypertrophy of the ligamentum flavum (HLF), consistently pinpointing CTSD as an upregulated hub gene in both OPLL and HLF.

CYP24A1 and SLC34A1 gene mutations cause two forms of hereditary IIH. In this study, the clinical manifestations and molecular aspects of six new Chinese patients were investigated.

At present, artificial CC-like tissues based on acellular or three-dimensional (3D)-printed scaffolds are used to solve the scarcity of primary penis tissue samples. However, inconvenience and high costs limit the wide application of such methods.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the shortest compression time to achieve hemostasis and the optimal hemostasis strategy in patients treated with transradial access chemoembolization (TRA-TACE).
Methods: From October 2019 to October 2021, 119 consecutive patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) who underwent 134 sessions of TRA-TACE were included in this prospective single-center study. The compression time was measured by decompressing the device for 30 min, and thereafter, every 10 min after the procedure until complete hemostasis was achieved.
Objective: The study aimed to analyze the applicability of the World Health Organization's exclusionary guidelines for Urinary creatinine (Ucr) in the general Chinese population, and to identify Ucr related factors.
Methods: We conduct a cross-sectional study using baseline data from 21,167 participants in the China National Human Biomonitoring Program. Mixed linear models and restricted cubic splines (RCS) were used to analyze the associations between explanatory variables and Ucr concentration.
Background: Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) has become one of the most common infectious diseases in China. Before 2016, the primary causal serotypes were enterovirus A71 (EV-A71) and coxsackievirus A16 (CV-A16). Following the introduction of EV-A71 vaccines in China since 2016, the situation could change.

Our goal is to investigate the connection between serum 25(OH)D and carotid artery intima-media thickness (CIMT) in men with erectile dysfunction (ED).Serum 25(OH)D and CIMT were measured in 124 participants with erectile dysfunction and 39 healthy controls. The relationship between them and different patient-related parameters and disease-related parameters was studied.

The structural characterization of these compounds was carried out by analyzing the HRESIMS data, 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic data, electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculations, and gauge-independent atomic orbital (GIAO) NMR calculations. Hyperberlone A (1) was a caged PPAP with a rare tricyclo[4.

In this work, baicalin, an extraction from the Chinese herb Scutellaria baicalensis, was utilized as the antibacterial component in the poly(ε-caprolactone)/MXene (PCL/TiCT) hybrid nanofibrous membranes for wound dressing. The results revealed that the presence of TiCT aided in the diameter reduction of the electrospun nanofibers.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed patients with DLBCL admitted to our center between January 2018 and July 2019 who achieved complete remission (CR) after induction chemotherapy. Forty-five patients who received PD-1 inhibitor maintenance therapy were considered the treatment group.
Gastric cancer is one of the most common cancers with few effective treatments, a new treatment agent is desperately needed. C-2, a Jaspine B derivative, has shown anti-cancer efficacy in gastric cancer cells. The anti-cancer mechanism, however, remains unknown.

Objectives: To explore levels of anti-oxidative molecules and inflammatory factors in patients with vascular dementia (VD) and their clinical significance.
Methods: Sixty VD patients admitted in our hospital from January 2016 to January 2019 were classified into an experimental group, while another 60 healthy patients seeking physical examinations in the corresponding period were selected as a control group. Various indexes related to serum inflammatory factors and anti-oxidative molecules were compared among patients in such two groups.
