Background: Entecavir (ETV), tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF), and tenofovir alafenamide(TAF) are first-line nucleos(t)ide analogs (NUCs) with chronic hepatitis B (CHB). This study aimed to assess the renal safety profile in NUC-experienced CHB patients who received ETV, TDF or TAF therapy.

Methods: This retrospective observational cohort study investigated factors related to renal function in 154 patients with NUC-experienced CHB who received ETV, TDF, and TAF therapy for 48 weeks.

The effect of delirium on the association between frailty and postoperative major complications in elderly patients: a mediation analysis.

Purpose: Both preoperative frailty and postoperative delirium (POD) are associated with higher risk of postoperative complications. But it is unclear if the effect of preoperative frailty on postoperative complications was mediated by POD.

Methods: This study was a mediation analysis of a pooled database.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of the International Ovarian Tumor Analysis (IOTA) simple rules combined with contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in differentiating benign from malignant adnexal masses.

Methods: This retrospective study included 179 patients with adnexal masses who underwent pre-operative ultrasound. The IOTA simple rules were applied first, followed by CEUS for inconclusive or suspicious cases.

Development of a risk prediction model for personalized assessment of postoperative recurrence risk in colon cancer patients.

Background: Colon cancer, a significant contributor to cancer-related mortality worldwide, exhibits a high recurrence rate in patients following surgical intervention, particularly when the disease has progressed to intermediate or advanced stages. This study undertakes a comprehensive analysis of the risk factors influencing postoperative recurrence in patients with middle- to late-stage colon cancer and subsequently develops a columnar graphical prediction model based on these findings. This model seeks to enhance the capability of identifying the risk of postoperative recurrence in patients with intermediate and advanced colon cancer, thereby providing a scientific foundation for the development of more personalized and effective prevention and management strategies.

Modified Patent Hemostasis Strategy Based on the Platelet Counts for Transradial Access Chemoembolization in Patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma: A Prospective Single-Center Study.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the shortest compression time to achieve hemostasis and the optimal hemostasis strategy in patients treated with transradial access chemoembolization (TRA-TACE).

Methods: From October 2019 to October 2021, 119 consecutive patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) who underwent 134 sessions of TRA-TACE were included in this prospective single-center study. The compression time was measured by decompressing the device for 30 min, and thereafter, every 10 min after the procedure until complete hemostasis was achieved.

Objective: The study aimed to analyze the applicability of the World Health Organization's exclusionary guidelines for Urinary creatinine (Ucr) in the general Chinese population, and to identify Ucr related factors.

Methods: We conduct a cross-sectional study using baseline data from 21,167 participants in the China National Human Biomonitoring Program. Mixed linear models and restricted cubic splines (RCS) were used to analyze the associations between explanatory variables and Ucr concentration.

Background: Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) has become one of the most common infectious diseases in China. Before 2016, the primary causal serotypes were enterovirus A71 (EV-A71) and coxsackievirus A16 (CV-A16). Our goal is to investigate the connection between serum 25(OH)D and carotid artery intima-media thickness (CIMT) in men with erectile dysfunction (ED).Serum 25(OH)D and CIMT were measured in 124 participants with erectile dysfunction and 39 healthy controls. The relationship between them and different patient-related parameters and disease-related parameters was studied.

A phytochemical investigation on the roots of Hypericum beanii resulted in the isolation of six new polycyclic polyprenylated acylphloroglucinols (PPAPs), hyperberlones A-F, along with fourteen known analogues. The structural characterization of these compounds was carried out by analyzing the HRESIMS data, 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic data, electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculations, and gauge-independent atomic orbital (GIAO) NMR calculations. Electrospun polycaprolactone nanofibrous membranes loaded with baicalin for antibacterial wound dressing.

Due to the rise in bacterial resistance, the antibacterial extractions from Chinese herbs have been used more frequently for wound care. In this work, baicalin, an extraction from the Chinese herb Scutellaria baicalensis, was utilized as the antibacterial component in the poly(ε-caprolactone)/MXene (PCL/TiCT) hybrid nanofibrous membranes for wound dressing. The results revealed that the presence of TiCT aided in the diameter reduction of the electrospun nanofibers.

The efficacy of PD-1 inhibitors in the maintenance treatment of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma: A single-center retrospective analysis.

Purpose: To explore the impact of PD-1 maintenance therapy on the relapse-free survival (RFS) of patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed patients with DLBCL admitted to our center between January 2018 and July 2019 who achieved complete remission (CR) after induction chemotherapy. Forty-five patients who received PD-1 inhibitor maintenance therapy were considered the treatment group.

Objectives: To explore levels of anti-oxidative molecules and inflammatory factors in patients with vascular dementia (VD) and their clinical significance.

Methods: Sixty VD patients admitted in our hospital from January 2016 to January 2019 were classified into an experimental group, while another 60 healthy patients seeking physical examinations in the corresponding period were selected as a control group. Various indexes related to serum inflammatory factors and anti-oxidative molecules were compared among patients in such two groups.
