Objective: This study aimed to develop a preoperative nomogram based on clinical and pathological characteristics to provide a more individualized and accurate estimation of lymph node metastasis (LNM) in patients with early-stage cervical cancer.
Methods: A total of 7,349 early-stage cervical cancer patients with pathologically confirmed between 1988 and 2015 were obtained from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database. All the patients were divided into training (n = 5,500) and validation (n = 1,849) cohorts randomly.
Volatile esters in apple (Malus domestica) fruit are the critical aroma components determining apple flavor quality. While the exact molecular regulatory mechanism remains unknown, jasmonic acid (JA) plays a crucial role in stimulating the synthesis of ester aromas in apples. In our study, we investigated the effects of methyl jasmonate (MeJA) on the production of ester aroma in apples.

According to our results, expression was strongly induced by ethylene and JA. Physiological phenotypes and the results of molecular biological analyses indicated that encodes a positive regulator of anthocyanin synthesis.

The characteristic properties of the material were investigated by using field emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, vibrating sample magnetometer, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller, and contact angle test. The FeO@YS-UiO-66-NH shows the advantages of large surface area, good magnetic property, and satisfactory stability, as well as giving high affinity to alkaloids (ALs) via hydrophilic interaction, hydrogen bonding, and π-π interaction.

Mild therapeutic hypothermia has been shown to mitigate cerebral ischemia, reduce cerebral edema, and improve the prognosis of patients with cerebral ischemia. Adipose-derived stem cell-based therapy can decrease neuronal death and infiltration of inflammatory cells, exerting a neuroprotective effect. We hypothesized that the combination of mild therapeutic hypothermia and adipose-derived stem cells would be neuroprotective for treatment of stroke.

Here, we confirmed decreased expression of miR-29c and enhanced expression of Sp1 in lung cancer tissues (n = 20) and found that Sp1 could be targeted and inhibited by miR-29c.

Methods: In this study, the associations between HRV measures and the mortality in 81 PD patients were analyzed. HRV was measured by using 5-min recordings of a stationary system by a standardized method.
In this study, one-trial step-through task was applied to reveal the effect of prefrontal infralimbic cortex GABAA receptor agitating on passive avoidance memory consolidation in rats. Immediately after training (with shock), GABAA receptor agonist, muscimol (0.5 μg/0.

Methods: In this cross-sectional study, HRV was evaluated in 71 peritoneal dialysis patients. Patients were divided into RRF decline group, RRF stable group and anuric group.
Background: Heart rate variability (HRV) is an useful noninvasive tool to assess autonomic nervous system (ANS) function and may provide an insight into the understanding of the role of ANS in the pathogenesis of blood pressure (BP) abnormality in euvolemic continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) patients.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 62 CAPD patients with normal hydration values (assessed by a bioimpedance spectroscopy device) were enrolled from our peritoneal dialysis (PD) unit. Patients were divided into three groups according to their BP: normotension (NT), hypertension (HT), and hypotension (HyT).

Objective: To observe the effect of Naoxintong Capsule (NC) on the vascular endothelial function and the infarct size of patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI).
Methods: One hundred and four patients with AMI were randomly assigned to the NC group (Group A, 36 cases), the Tongguan Capsule group (Group B, 32 cases), and the conventional Western medicine group (Group C, 36 cases). The conventional Western medicine was given to the three groups.

Objective: To analyze the possible relationship between heart rate variability (HRV) and blood pressure in peritoneal dialysis patients.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 93 continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis patients (CAPD) patients were enrolled. Patients were divided into three groups according blood pressure.
Background: In mammals, hair cells do not undergo spontaneous regeneration when they are damaged and result in permanent hearing loss. Previous studies in cultured Organ of Corti dissected from neonatal animals have shown that both DAPT (r-secretase inhibitor in the Notch signal pathway) treatment and Atoh1 overexpression can induce supernumerary hair cells. The effects of simultaneous DAPT treatment and Atoh1 over expression in the cells of cultured Organ of Corti from neonatal rats are still obscure.

We observed that global ischemia induced at a blood pressure of 37 mmHg resulted in high-grade CA1 neuron injury (>90%) at either duration of carotid occlusion. In contrast, global ischemia induced at a blood pressure of 45 mmHg resulted in either high-grade CA1 neuronal loss or a neuronal loss of ≈50% or less.

A practical gas sensing system utilizing absorption spectrum scanning techniques was developed. Using the narrow-band transmission of a fiber tunable filter (TOF) and wavelength modulation technique, the so-called cross-sensing effects of the traditional spectrum absorption based gas sensor were reduced effectively and thus the target gas was detected sensitively and selectively. In order to reduce the effects of nonlinearity of TOF on the measurement results and improve the system stability in operation, the reflection spectrum of a reference FBG was monitored and employed to control the modulation region and center of TOF wavelength precisely.

In order to improve the measurement accuracy of FBG sensing system, particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm combined with reference FBGs array was applied to investigate the nonlinearity and hysteresis character of Fabry-Parot filter (FPF). A method of modeling the wavelength-voltage relationship of FPF online in each FPF scanning cycle was proposed in the present paper. The feature of particle swarm optimization algorithm such as fast convergence and simple implementation makes the process of modeling wavelength-voltage relationship of FPF be completed with low computing cost and high accuracy.

Taking two-year-old Diospyros kaki as test material, this paper studied the effects of high CO2 concentration (700 micromol x mol(-1)), high temperature (5 degrees C higher than the mean daily temperature); and their combination on the net photosynthesis rate (Pn), evapotranspiration (Tr), stomatal conductance (Gs), water use efficiency (WUE), chlorophyll content, Fv/Fm, and Fv/Fo under different soil moisture conditions, with the ambient air temperature and CO2 concentration (380 micromol x mol(-1)) as the control. Under all test soil moisture conditions, the combination of high CO2 concentration and high temperature decreased the Tr and Gs, but increased the WUE. This combination increased the Pn when the soil moisture content was 75%-85% and 55%-65% of field capacity, but decreased the Pn when the soil moisture content was 35%-45%.

To study the program of evaluating mothers and infants after 6 months of cord blood donation, from June 1998 to February 2004, all mothers after 6 months of cord blood donation were followed-up by phone calls or letters to report on the health condition. The results showed that when 3 195 mothers were visited by phone calls, 18 mothers declined to answer. 392 letter were send to those who could not be found by phone, 15 of whom wrote back.
