Cervical spondylotic internal jugular venous compression syndrome.

Aims: This study aimed to identify the clinical profiles of cervical spondylosis-related internal jugular vein stenosis (IJVS) comprehensively.

Methods: A total of 46 patients, who were diagnosed as IJVS induced by cervical spondylotic compression were recruited. The clinical manifestations and imaging features of IJVS were presented particularly in this study.

Batroxobin in combination with anticoagulation may promote venous sinus recanalization in cerebral venous thrombosis: A real-world experience.

Aims: The objective of this study was to evaluate cerebral venous recanalization with magnetic resonance black-blood thrombus imaging (MRBTI) in patients with cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) who underwent batroxobin treatment in combination with anticoagulation.

Methods: A total of 31 CVT patients were enrolled in this real-world registry study. The patients were divided into batroxobin (n = 21) and control groups (n = 10).

Understanding jugular venous outflow disturbance.

Extracranial venous abnormalities, especially jugular venous outflow disturbance, were originally viewed as nonpathological phenomena due to a lack of realization and exploration of their feature and clinical significance. The etiology and pathogenesis are still unclear, whereas a couple of causal factors have been conjectured. The clinical presentation of this condition is highly variable, ranging from insidious to symptomatic, such as headaches, dizziness, pulsatile tinnitus, visual impairment, sleep disturbance, and neck discomfort or pain.

Danggui Buxue Extract-Loaded Liposomes in Thermosensitive Gel Enhance Dermal Wound Healing via Activation of the VEGF/PI3K/Akt and TGF-/Smads Signaling Pathway.

Danggui Buxue extract-loaded liposomes in thermosensitive gel (DBLTG) are a sustained-release local drug delivery system derived from Danggui Buxue decoction, a well-known Chinese herb formula with wound healing potential. In the present study, we investigated the therapeutic effects of DBLTG on dorsal full-thickness excisional wounds in rats by measuring the percentage of wound contraction and hydroxyproline content, as well as conducting histological observations and immunohistochemical analysis. We also assessed involvement of the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)/phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt and transforming growth factor beta (TGF-)/Smads signaling pathways in the wound healing process upon DBLTG treatment via western blot.

Role of three-dimensional endoanal ultrasound in assessing the anal sphincter morphology of female patients with chronic proctalgia.

Aim: To assess the role of three-dimensional endoanal ultrasound (3D-EAUS) for morphological assessment of the anal sphincter of female patients with chronic proctalgia (CP).

Methods: In this unmatched case control study, 30 consecutive female patients with CP and 25 normal women (control group) were enrolled. 3D-EAUS was performed in all subjects.

Development and Evaluation of a Patient-Reported Outcome (PRO) Scale for Breast Cancer.

Background: This study was guided by principles of the theoretical system of evidence-based medicine. In particular, when searching for evidence of breast cancer, a measuring scale is an instrument for evaluating curative effects in accordance with the laws and characteristics of medicine and exploring the establishment of a system for medically assessing curative effects. At present, there exist few tools for evaluating curative effects.

[Clinical observation of characteristic and treatment of posterior Pilon fractures].

Objective: To explore clinical characteristics and treatment of posterior Pilon fracture.

Methods: From January 2011 to January 2013,18 patients with posterior Pilon fracures were treated. Among them, 13 were male and 5 were female, aged from 22 to 63 years old, with an average age of 46.

Influence of curcumin on HOTAIR-mediated migration of human renal cell carcinoma cells.

Background: This study investigated the influence of curcumin on HOX transcript antisense RNA (HOTAIR)- mediated migration of cultured renal cell carcinoma (RCC) cells.

Materials And Methods: Five RCC cell lines (769-P, 769-P-vector, 769-P-HOTAIR, 786-0, and Kert-3 ) were maintained in vitro. The expression of HOTAIR mRNA was determined by quantitative real-time PCR and cell migration was measured by transwell migration assay.

Cinobufacin suppresses cell proliferation via miR-494 in BGC- 823 gastric cancer cells.

Cinobufacin is used clinically to treat patients with many solid malignant tumors. However, the mechanisms underlying action remain to be detailed. Our study focused on miRNAs involved in cinobufacin inhibition of GC cell proliferation.

[Establishment of a multiplex ligation-dependent SNP genotyping method and its application in the detection of genes related to chemotherapeutic drugs in breast cancer].

Objective: To establish a method for SNP genotyping of multi-genes by allele-specific oligonucleotide probe ligation mediated by a thermostable ligase, and to explore the genetic polymorphisms of drug-metabolizing enzymes in breast cancer patients and their association with chemotherapeutic responses.

Methods: 10 SNP loci of enzyme genes related to chemotherapeutic drugs such as taxanes, anthracyclines and cyclophosphamide were selected, and were genotyped for blood samples from 126 breast cancer patients by the established method. Their correlations with therapeutic responses were retrospectively evaluated.

[Effects of chemotherapy on circulating angiogenic factor levels in patients with breast cancer].

Objective: To study the changes in circulating VEGF and endostatin (ES) levels during chemotherapy for patients with breast cancer, and their correlation with efficacy of chemotherapy.

Methods: 40 breast cancer patients with metastases were included in this study. They received TAC/TEC, CAF/CEF, NP, CAP, CMF, TFP, TA or TC regime chemotherapy, respectively.

[Tumor micrometastasis and its treatment with traditional Chinese medicine].

This paper discussed the detection of tumor micrometastasis, and analysed the influence of chemotherapy and blood transfusion on the immunity of tumor patients. Chemotherapy and blood transfusion can increase the opportunity of tumor metastasis. By analysing the mechanism of the treatment of tumor with traditional Chinese medicine, the author put forward the new method about eliminating tumor micrometastasis with traditional Chinese medicine.

Novel sustained-release implant of herb extract using chitosan.

Chitosan (CS), a naturally occurring high-molecule polymer, which is stable in vivo, has proved to be a useful biomaterial. The extract of danshen (Radix Salviae miltiorrhizae), a medicinal herbal, was developed with CS-gelatin as an implant for the promotion of anastomosing and healing on muscles and tissues at the organic incision site in abdominal cavities. Measurements were made of the sustained release of tanshinone IIa, a marker component, from the material in vitro.
