The objective of the study was to analyze the genetic distribution of specific blood group antigens among the Li nationality in Hainan Province, focusing on twelve rare blood group systems.
Methodologically, 214 individuals from the Li population were genotyped using PCR-SSP to determine the frequencies of various blood group antigens.
Results indicated that while the Duffy, Diego, Kidd, Dombrock, MNS, and Lutheran systems exhibited polymorphic gene frequencies, other systems like Kell and Colton showed uniform distribution, adhering to Hardy-Weinberg principles, with notable differences in the Kidd blood group system.
