New AMH cutoff values for warning of decreased ovarian response based on MCL characteristics in young women: a retrospective study using a propensity score-matching analysis.

Background: Menstrual cycle length (MCL) and ovarian response varies widely among women of childbearing age. They are provided with anti-Mu¨llerian hormone (AMH) cutoffs for "normal" and "weakened" ovarian responses, which give an early warning of the onset of decreased ovarian response.

Methods: This was a retrospective study in women aged 21 to 35 years with MCLs of 21-35 days receiving in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment at Center for Reproductive Medicine from October 2018 to October 2021.

Delayed oral feeding reduces pharyngocutaneous fistula formation after open surgical treatment of primary hypopharyngeal cancer: A case-control study.

Objectives: Pharyngocutaneous fistula (PCF) formation following open surgical treatment of hypopharyngeal cancer (HPC) is a common and troublesome complication. To date, the postoperative protocol of restarting oral intake is not clear, and vast discrepancies exist in the literature and among institutions. This study aimed to explore the impact of a postoperative protocol of restarting oral intake on PCF formation after open surgical treatment of primary HPC, and its impact on overall survival (OS) and swallowing function based on the functional outcome swallowing scale (FOSS).

A new molecular probe: An NRP-1 targeting probe for the grading diagnosis of glioma in nude mice.

Magnetic resonance molecular imaging, as a safe imaging technology, provides a new idea for the early qualitative and hierarchical diagnosis of gliomas. The purpose of this study was to design and evaluate the value of neuropilin-1 (NRP-1) targeting molecular probes in the hierarchical diagnosis of gliomas. First, we created an NRP-1 targeted magnetic resonance molecular probe (USPIO-PEG-tLyP-1) by combining the polypeptide tLyP-1 with ultra-small superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (USPIONs), detecting the physical properties by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and dynamic light scattering (DLS).

Improved picoliter-sized micro-reactors for high-throughput biological analysis.

High-throughput pyrosequencing, carried out in millions of picoliter-sized reactors on a fiber-optic slide, is known for its longer read length. However, both optical crosstalk (which reduces the signal-to-noise ratio of CCD images) and chemical retention adversely affect the accuracy of chemiluminescence determination, and ultimately decrease the read length and the accuracy of pyrosequencing results. In this study, both titanium and oxidized aluminum films were deposited on the side walls and upper faces of micro-reactor slides to enhance optical isolation; the films reduced the inter-well crosstalk by one order of magnitude.

[Effects of different irrigation patterns on the growth of maize root hair].

With split-root pot experiment and using optical and electrical microscopes, the growth of root hair of maize under different irrigation patterns, i. e. , irrigated on both halves of the pot (conventional irrigation, CI), on one half only (fixed partial root zone irrigation, FPRI), and on both halves alternatively (alternate partial root zone irrigation, APRI), was observed.

[ALPase activity and the distribution of phosphate solubilizing bacteria and the relationship between them in sediments of Lake Taihu].

The abundance of phosphate solubilizing bacteria, together with the alkaline phosphatase (ALPase) activity in the sediment samples of Lake Taihu in different seasons, sites and depths, was analyzed. And the relationship between the distribution of phosphate solubilizing bacteria and the ALPase activity was discussed. Results show that phosphate solubilizing bacteria is universally detected in surface sediments.
