Two new -acetyl-ᴅ-glucosamine derivatives from the medical algae-derived endophytic fungus .

Two new -acetyl-ᴅ-glucosamine derivatives, penichryfurans A () and B (), were obtained from the fermentation of an endophytic fungus which inhabited the marine medical red alga . Their structures were established by detailed spectroscopic analysis of 1D and 2D NMR in combination with HRESIMS data. The absolute configurations were determined by the (Mo(OAc))-induced CD and comparison of the calculated and experimental electronic curcular dichroism (ECD) spectra.

Bioassay-Guided Isolation and Identification of Xanthine Oxidase Inhibitory Constituents from the Leaves of Perilla frutescens.

Activity-directed fractionation and purification processes were employed to identify xanthine oxidase (XO) inhibitory compounds from the leaves of Perilla frutescens. The total extract was evaluated in vitro on XO inhibitory activity and in vivo in an experimental model with potassium oxonate-induced hyperuricemia in mice which was used to evaluate anti-hyperuricemic activity. The crude extract showed expressive urate-lowering activity results.
