As emerging contaminants growing threat to aquatic organisms, explore effective mitigation strategies is particularly important. Our previous studies have shown that selenium-rich Bacillus subtilis can not only alleviate the cause of brain damage by perfluorohexanoic acid (PFHxA) in Carassius auratus via the intestinal axis of the brain, but its metabolites can also alleviate PFHxA toxicity. This study further explores the potential mechanism through in vitro experiments.

Purpose: The conversion of knee arthrodesis to total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is a challenging procedure. This article aims to report a case of fusion knee with patellar absence who was converted to TKA and has achieved good results.
Methods: The patient, a 23 years old Tibetan Buddhist monk, sustained a left knee joint injury at the age of 12 due to a car accident, leading to subsequent knee arthrodesis at 18 years old as a result of recurrent severe infections.
We study theoretically the Josephson diode effect (JDE) when realized in a system composed of parallel-coupled double-quantum dots (DQDs) sandwiched between two semiconductor nanowires deposited on an s-wave superconductor surface. Due to the combined effects of proximity-induced superconductivity, strong Rashba spin-orbit interaction, and the Zeeman splitting inside the nanowires, a pair of Majorana bound states (MBSs) may possibly emerge at opposite ends of each nanowire. Different phase factors arising from the superconductor substrate can be generated in the coupling amplitudes between the DQDs and MBSs prepared at the left and right nanowires, and this will result in the Josephson current.

In particular, we consider that the QD is also side-coupled to a nanowire hosting Majorana bound states (MBSs) at its ends. Our results show that when one mode of the MBSs is coupled simultaneously to both spin-up and spin-down electrons on the QD, the height of the central peak is different from that if the MBS is coupled to only one spin component electrons.

The inhibition of HPPD activity interferes with the synthesis of carotenoids, blocking photosynthesis and resulting in bleaching and necrosis. To develop herbicides with excellent activity, a series of 3-hydroxy-2-(6-substituted phenoxynicotinoyl)-2-cyclohexen-1-one derivatives were designed via active substructure combination.

Methods: The computed tomography (CT) images were retrospectively collected and the three-dimensional (3D) models were reconstructed from 434 Chinese OA patients, including 93 males and 341 females, with a mean age of 66.4 ± 9.

Objective: Pheochromocytoma is a rare catecholamine-producing neuroendocrine tumour originating from the chromaffin cells of the adrenal medulla or extra-adrenal paraganglia. However, there are few bibliometric studies on Pheochromocytoma. Therefore, this study was employed to summarize the global trends and current status in pheochromocytoma by bibliometric analysis.

In order to explore the distribution characteristics, assess the risk of human respiratory exposure, and analyze the sources of AMPs in different functional areas of Yichang City, AMPs samples from 16 observation points were collected and analyzed, and the HYSPLIT model was used. The results showed that the main shapes of AMPs in Yichang City were fiber, fragment, and film, and six colors were observed including transparent, red, black, green, yellow, and purple.

We investigate the behavior of the Josephson current in a system composed of a quantum dot (QD) sandwiched between two nanowires by using the nonequilibrium Green's function technique. We consider that the nanowires are in proximity to s-wave superconducror substrates, and Majorana bound states (MBSs) are induced at their ends. It is also assumed that the two nanowires are not aligned in the same orientation, but form a bent angle with respect to each other.

And distal femoral derotational osteotomy is an effective treatment option in patients with increased femoral torsional deformity. However, groin pain is a rare complication after femoral derotational osteotomy.

Methods: ERA mice model was established by adding D-galactose (Dgal) to collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) mice.
Objective: The surgical transepicondylar axis (sTEA) is believed to be a consistent reference for femoral rotation axis, and the reliability of its orientation seriously affects the accuracy and outcome of total knee arthroplasty (TKA). This study was designed to investigate the relationship between the orientation of sTEA and femoral bowing angle (FBA) and posterior condylar line (PCL) using three-dimensional (3D) computed tomography (CT) reconstruction models to verify its reliability.
Methods: This study retrospectively collected lower extremity images of 443 southern Chinese osteoarthritic patients (347 women, 96 men; 234 left, 209 right; mean age 66.
Background: Surgical transepicondylar axis (sTEA) is frequently used for positioning of femoral component rotation in total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Previous studies showed that intraoperative identification of sTEA was not reliable. While surgeons or engineers need to identify sTEA with three-dimensional (3D) computer-aid techniques pre- or intraoperatively, the reproducibility of sTEA identification on preoperative 3D images has not been explored yet.

Methods: Sixty patients (45 women and 15 men) attending our department from May 2019 to December 2020 were selected and divided into two groups, with 30 patients in each group, according to whether they underwent COTKA or RATKA. Femoral rotational alignment results, such as, posterior condylar angle (PCA), patella transverse axis-femoral transepicondylar axis angle (PFA), radiological findings, such as, hip-knee-ankle angle (HKA), lateral distal femoral angle (LDFA), and medial proximal tibial angle (MPTA), and operative data (operation time, intraoperative blood loss, tourniquet time, and length of stay (LOS), and clinical outcomes, such as maximum knee flexion angle (MKFA), Knee Society Score (KSS), and Western Ontario Mac Master University Index Score (WOMAC) were compared within and between the two groups.
Purpose: Lower limb alignment is crucial in total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Previous studies have shown that robotics and personalized three-dimensional (3D) preoperative planning could improve postoperative alignment accuracy compared with conventional TKA, but comparison between the above two techniques has never been reported. The authors hypothesized that robotics may be superior to personalized 3D preoperative planning in terms of postoperative alignment in primary TKA, with similar patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) but higher cost and longer operative time.

With the widespread application of next-generation sequencing(NGS), especially 16 S rRNA and shotgun sequencing, researchers are no longer troubled with massive data on the gut microbiota, and the correlation between the gut microbiota and the brain(central nervous system) has been gradually revealed. Research on the microbiota-gut-brain axis(MGBA) based on the gut microbiota have provided insights into the exploration of the pathogenesis and risk factors of ischemic stroke(IS), a cerebrovascular disease with high disability and mortality rates, and also facilitate the selection of therapeutic targets of this class of drugs. This study reviewed the application of NGS in the study of gut microbiota and the research progress of MGBA in recent years and systematically collated the research papers on the correlation between IS and gut microbiota.
