Phytochemical research on an extract of Notopterygium incisum yielded fifteen compounds (1-15), including four previously undescribed compounds (10-13). The structures of the unreported compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic and spectrometric data analysis such as 1D and 2D NMR, IR and HR-ESI-MS. Compounds 1-5 and 10-14 were isolated from N.

In this study, ten labdane-type diterpenoids 1-10 were isolated from a methanol extract of the whole plant Lagopsis supina, including three undescribed compounds 1-3. Their structures were determined by spectroscopic data analyses such as HR-ESI-MS, 1D, and 2D NMR, as well as comparison with literature data. At the same time, the absolute configuration of five compounds 2-5 and 10 was confirmed for the first time by the single crystal X-ray diffraction method.

High myopia (HM) is a leading cause of visual impairment in the world. To expand the genotypic and phenotypic spectra of HM in the Chinese population, we investigated genetic variations in a cohort of 113 families with nonsyndromic early-onset high myopia from northwestern China by whole-exome sequencing, with focus on 17 known genes. Sixteen potentially pathogenic variants predicted to affect protein function in eight of seventeen causative genes for HM in fifteen (13.

Article Synopsis
  • * G-6 was found to inhibit colony formation and cell movement, and it induced apoptosis in SW1990 pancreatic cancer cells, focusing on the differential expression of 143 proteins.
  • * The study identified the MET/PTEN/TGF-β signaling pathway as a key regulator of important biological processes, which may suggest G-6's role as a promising treatment for pancreatic cancer.

Pancreatic cancer is the seventh leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide and is known as "the king of cancers". Currently, gemcitabine (GEM) as the clinical drug of choice for chemotherapy of advanced pancreatic cancer has poor drug sensitivity and ineffective chemotherapy. Nardoguaianone L (G-6) is a novel guaiane-type sesquiterpenoid isolated from DC.

Twenty-two isolates, including two previously undescribed compounds identified as benzoyltembamide (1) and P-benzoyphenethyl anisate (21), were isolated and identified from a methanol extract of the roots of Zanthoxylum bungeanum Maxim. (Rutaceae) using diverse chromatographic materials and pre-HPLC. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic and spectrometric data analysis such as HR-ESI-MS, 1D and 2D NMR, IR and UV, as well as single-crystal X-ray diffraction for crystalline compounds.

Five previously unreported terpenoids, together with fifteen known analogs, were isolated from a methanol extract of the roots and rhizomes of Nardostachys jatamansi. Their structures, including absolute configurations, were elucidated by spectroscopic data and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) spectra analyses, as well as single-crystal X-ray diffraction for crystalline compounds. Structurally, (4R,5S,6S,7R)-1(10)-aristolane-8,9-diacid is a novel 8,9-dicarboxylic acid derivative of aristolane-type sesquiterpenoid.

Narjatamolide (), an unusual homoguaiane sesquiterpene lactone, was isolated from the roots and rhizomes of DC. It represents the new carbon skeleton of a homoguaiane sesquiterpenoid possessing an additional acetate unit spiro-fused with C-4 and C-15 to form a cyclopropane ring. The structure of was elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analyses, and the absolute configuration was confirmed by the electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculations and X-ray single-crystal diffraction analysis.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most common and aggressive brain tumor and patients with this disease tend to have poor clinical outcome. MicroRNAs (miRs) are important regulators of a number of key pathways implicated in tumor pathogenesis. Recently, the expression of miR‑378 was shown to be dysregulated in several different types of cancer, including gastric cancer, colorectal cancer and oral carcinoma.

A series of diosgenyl analogs were prepared from diosgenin to evaluate their anticancer activity and antithrombotic property. Analog 4, which had a spiroketal structure with a 6-aminohexanoic acid residue, exhibited the highest potency against all five tumor cell lines. It significantly blocked tumor growth, induced cell apoptosis and autophagy, and regulated cellular calcium concentration, mitochondrial membrane potential, adenosine triphosphate, and cell cycle.

Background: One of the major limitations of biliary stents is the stent occlusion, which is closely related to the over-growth of bacteria. This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of a novel silver-nanoparticle-coated polyurethane (Ag/PU) stent in bacterial cholangitis model in swine.

Methods: Ag/PU was designed by coating silver nanoparticles on polyurethane (PU) stent.

Aim: To investigate the efficacy and mechanism of action of allogeneic embryonic hepatocyte transplantation for the treatment of hepatic cirrhosis.

Methods: Rat embryonic hepatocytes were characterized by examining cell markers. Wistar rats with CCl(4)-induced cirrhosis were randomly divided into two groups: a model group receiving continuous CCl(4), and a cell transplantation group receiving continuous CCl(4) and transplanted with embryonic fluorescent-labeled hepatocytes.
