Objective: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune condition that causes severe joint deformities and impaired functionality, affecting the well-being and daily life of individuals. Consequently, there is a pressing demand for identifying viable therapeutic targets for treating RA. This study aimed to explore the molecular mechanisms of osteoclast differentiation in PBMC from patients with RA through transcriptome sequencing and bioinformatics analysis.

Method: This study examined four patients with intraocular lens (IOL) implants and posterior capsule defects who experienced the formation of dense water droplets on the posterior surface following fluid-air exchange. When this occurrence obstructs fundus visualization during surgery, it is recommended to suspend the surgical procedure.

Population exposure to plastics is increasing, and plasticizers are frequently detected in humans as important ingredients of plastic products. However, patterns of exposure to harmful ingredients of plastics and their effects on neurofilament light chain (NFL), a marker of active brain pathology, are currently inconclusive. Herein, we employed a range of statistical methods to thoroughly investigate the impact of 24 plastic hazardous ingredients and their varying exposure patterns on NFL concentrations in the blood of the general population in 533 participants.

We aimed to assess the efficiency of a combined strategy named "standardly trained peer volunteer-led, social app recruiting-based HIV testing strategy using rapid testing kits" (SPARK).
Methods: Between March 2020 and December 2021, 177 trained peer volunteers tested 7256 eligible MSM testers.
With the improvement of industry, the connectivity of electronic devices gradually shift from wired to wireless. As a solution for power delivery, the non-contact power transfer holds promising ways to charge for moving terminals, enabling battery-free sensing, processing, and communication. Based on a dual-band metasurface, this study proposes an adaptive wireless-powered network (AWPN) to realize the simultaneous wireless localization and non-contact power supply.

The proposed THMS manipulates the fundamental TE mode surface waves (SWs) to produce bidirectional leaky-wave radiation using bilayer anisotropic metal patches. To achieve the independent control of the direction and polarization of bidirectional beams, the nature of the capacitive impedance element supporting TE mode SWs is exploited.

Ozone (O₃) is recognized for its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, and anti-hypoxic properties, along with its minimal residual impact. However, the development of sustained O₃-release antibacterial hydrogels has been challenging due to the low solubility and short lifespan of ozone.

However, limited research has been conducted regarding the direct effects of 2-BP on the animal organism. Therefore, we probed mice injected with 2-BP for altered expression of inflammatory genes, with a focus on demonstrating changes in the intestinal flora as well as damage to the reproductive system.

In this study, we present a single-atom nickel with single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) as an electrochemical reactor for the complete elimination of chlorophenols. Distinct products and reductive mechanisms were observed for Ni-N-C compared to Cu-N-C.

Its widespread use has also caused its accumulation in the environment and subsequent ecotoxicology effects. As a Chinese medicine, Wulingzhi (WLZ) has the effects of promoting blood circulation and improving female reproductive function.

Parental obesity is known to have a negative effect on offspring fertility, but there are few relevant studies on the effects of HFD-F1 on reproductive function.
Methods: We first succeeded in establishing the HFD model, which provides a scientific basis in the analysis of HFD-F1 reproductive health.
In this paper, we introduce a novel technique that utilizes randomly rotated elements (RREs) for the cross-polarization and axial ratio (AR) control of a circularly polarized programmable metasurface (CPPMS). We evaluate the CPPMS performance by comparing RREs layout with uniform elements (UEs) layout, and analyze far-field radiation parameters for 50 groups of CPPMS with different RREs layouts. Simulation results demonstrate consistent and improved performance across various RREs layouts, showcasing reduced cross-polarization and enhanced AR beamwidth.

Increasing crop yield depends on selecting and utilizing pleiotropic genes/alleles to improve multiple yield-related traits (YRTs) during crop breeding. However, synergistic improvement of YRTs is challenging due to the trade-offs between YRTs in breeding practices. Here, the favourable haplotypes of the TaCYP78A family are identified by analysing allelic variations in 1571 wheat accessions worldwide, demonstrating the selection and utilization of pleiotropic genes to improve yield and related traits during wheat breeding.

Here, we report the transformation of the MS2 phage capsid from nanocages to nanotubes and then to nanotube hydrogels through simple point mutations guided by interfacial interaction redesign. We demonstrate that site 70, which lies in the flexible FG loop of the capsid protein (CP), is a "magic" site that can largely dictate the final morphology of assemblies.

To directly and better understand the protection of Gpx5 against OS in epididymal cells and sperm, we studied its mechanism of antioxidant protection from multiple aspects. To more directly investigate the role of Gpx5 in combating oxidative damage, we started with epididymal tissue morphology and Gpx5 expression profiles in combination with the mouse epididymal epithelial cell line PC1 (proximal caput 1) expressing recombinant Gpx5.
