This study aims to compare the effects of mandibular distraction osteogenesis (MDO) and bone grafting on the facial symmetry of children with Pruzansky-Kaban type IIB and III craniofacial microsomia (CFM). Medical records and three-dimensional computed tomography (3D-CT) data of CFM patients who had primarily undergone MDO and bone grafting were collected. A retrospective analysis of pre-and post-operative 3D imaging data was conducted to compare the improvement rate in facial symmetry between the two groups based on occlusal cant, affected/unaffected ramus height ratio and chin point deviation.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) in patients with craniofacial microsomia (CFM) through polysomnography (PSG) and the relationship with the severity of CFM.
Methods: This study reviewed patients of CFM with pre-operative PSG data between January 2005 and September 2023. Patients were grouped according to the Pruzansky-Kaban classification.

Background: Progressive hemifacial atrophy often causes lip vermilion defects in patients. In this study, we described a one-stage repair method for lip defects in progressive hemifacial atrophy using a lip vermilion mucosal flap or combined dermal fat flap graft.
Patients And Methods: Patients diagnosed with progressive hemifacial atrophy with lip vermilion defects from 2010 to 2022 were included in this study.
Background: Echocardiography (ECHO) and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are used to observe changes in the left ventricular structure in patients with breast and gastric cancer after 6 cycles of chemotherapy. Based on the observed values, we aimed to evaluate the cardiotoxicity of anthracyclines in cancer patients and to analyze the consistency of the two examination methods in assessing left ventricular function after chemotherapy.
Methods: From January 2020 to January 2022, the data of 80 patients with malignant tumors who received anthracycline chemotherapy (breast cancer, n = 40; gastric cancer, n = 40) and 40 healthy volunteers (Control group) were retrospectively collected.
Lymphoma is one of the most curable types of cancer. However, drug resistance is the main challenge faced in lymphoma treatment. Peroxisomal acyl-CoA oxidase 1 (ACOX1) is the rate-limiting enzyme in fatty acid β-oxidation.

Background: Volume restoration is no more a fresh theory for midfacial rejuvenation. However, lack of knowledge regarding the natural ageing process of fat compartments often leads to an insufficient or excessive clinical result. The aim of this study is to reveal the age-related changes in midfacial fat compartments and the correlation between midfacial grooves and the related fat compartments.

Results: The time-course analysis for the fruit developmental periods indicated a complex, dynamic gene expression pattern, with the numbers of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between the two cultivars being 119, 426 and 904 at the three continuous stages tested during fruit development and ripening. The continuous increase in total soluble solids over the course of fruit development was correlated with up-regulated sucrose phosphate synthase (SPS) transcription levels in both cultivars.

Objective: To understand the snail distribution in the working areas of Yangtze River hydrologic agencies located in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in 2016, so as to provide the evidence for assessing the risk of schistosome infection of hydrological workers and establishing the control strategies.
Methods: The suspicious environments with snails in the above working areas were selected as study areas, and the snail situation was surveyed by the system sampling method combined with the environmental sampling method. The survey data were collected and analyzed statistically.

Objective: To quantitatively evaluate the diagnostic value of gemstone spectral CT in thyroid disease.
Patients And Methods: A total of 123 patients with thyroid diseases were enrolled in the retrospective study. All the patients underwent spectral CT scan, and 39 of them underwent dual-phase enhanced scan.

Purpose: To evaluate the clinical effects of flowable composite as a liner in treatment of wedge-shaped defects.
Methods: Three hundred and sixty teeth from 85 patients with wedge-shaped defects were studied. The self-control design was used in this study.
Conservation tillage (CT) has been recognized as an advanced agricultural technology that may reduce drought and improve the physical condition of soils worldwide. An increase in water infiltration and a reduction in water and wind erosion can be achieved through the use of no-tillage, minimum tillage, and residue cover. In China, CT research started with support from the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), China and the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research in 1992.

Methods: 140 patients suffering from rheumatic diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus, polymyositis, dermatomyositis, and Sjögren's syndrome, with normal bone mineral density (BMD) and treated with oral glucocorticoids were randomly divided into 2 groups: Alen + calcium group (n = 74) receiving Alen 10 mg once a day and castrate D 600 0.6 g once a day for 24 weeks and control group (n = 66) receiving castrate D 600 0.
