Determination of low carbon aldehydes and ketones in cigarette smoke by MXene membrane enrichment-liquid chromatography.

Low carbon aldehydes and ketones are typical substances harmful to human body produced during cigarette smoking. Their contents in cigarette smoke are important indicators for evaluating its toxicity and the filtration effect of cigarette filter tips, which provides important guidance for its rational design. In this work, MXene membrane with unique lamellar structure was synthesized and loaded onto glass fiber filters to achieve effective enrichment of low carbon aldehydes and ketones.

Clinical efficacy of acupuncture for pain relief from renal colic: A meta-analysis and trial sequence analysis.

Background: This meta-analysis aimed at investigating the efficacy of acupuncture for relieving renal colic and reducing the risk of analgesic-related complications.

Methods: Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing the efficacy of acupuncture (acupuncture group) with conventional interventions (control group) were screened from MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane library databases, China Knowledge Network (CNKI), and Airiti Library till July 15, 2022. The primary outcome was the rate of effective pain relief (response rate), while secondary outcomes included the time of onset of pain relief, visual analog scale (VAS) at 30-60 min and risk of side effects.

Globo H Is a Promising Theranostic Marker for Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma.

Recent studies support the development of cancer therapeutics to target Globo H-ceramide, the most prevalent tumor-associated carbohydrate antigen in epithelial cancers. Herein, we evaluated the expression of Globo H and its prognostic significance in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) and conducted preclinical studies to assess the antitumor activity of Globo H-specific antibody in thioacetamide (TAA)-induced ICC in rats. Globo H-ceramide in tumor specimens was detected by immunohistochemistry (IHC) and mass spectrometry.

Postoperative plasma copeptin levels independently predict delirium and cognitive dysfunction after coronary artery bypass graft surgery.

Copeptin can reflect individual's stress state and are correlated with poor outcome of critical illness. The occurrence of postoperative delirium (POD) and cognitive dysfunction (POCD) is associated with worse outcome after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. The present study aimed to investigate the ability of postoperative plasma copeptin level to predict POD and POCD in patients undergoing CABG surgery.

A Hurst exponent estimator based on autoregressive power spectrum estimation with order selection.

The discrete-time fractional Gaussian noise (DFGN) has been proven to be a regular process. According to Wold and Kolmogorov theorems, this process can be described as an autoregressive (AR) model of an infinite order. An estimator for the Hurst exponent based on autoregressive power spectrum estimation has been proposed, but without considering order selection.

TBK1-associated protein in endolysosomes (TAPE) is an innate immune regulator modulating the TLR3 and TLR4 signaling pathways.

The innate immune system elicits the first wave of immune responses against pathogen infection. Its operational modes are complex and have yet to be defined. Here, we report the identification of an innate immune regulator termed TAPE (TBK1-associated protein in endolysosomes), previously known as CC2D1A/Freud-1/Aki-1, which modulates the TLR3 and TLR4 pathways.
