Atherosclerosis (AS) is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by vascular endothelial dysfunction. In the early stage of the disease, endothelial cell injury induces the infiltration of inflammatory macrophages, which secrete large amounts of inflammatory factors, further aggravating endothelial cell dysfunction and exacerbating the disease. Therefore, it is promising for co-targeting endothelial cells and macrophages further regulating the inflammatory microenvironment and endothelial cell function for effective treatment.

P2-type NaMnNiO as the cathode for sodium-ion batteries, has a relatively high theoretical specific capacity, but its unstable crystal structure and undesirable phase transitions lead to rapid capacity decay. In this work, Mg-B-O coated NaMnNiO microspheres have been synthesized via a liquid-phase method based on solvothermal synthesized NaMnNiO. The Mg-B-O coating layer significantly improves the electrochemical performance, including specific capacity, rate capability, and cycle stability.

Understanding how the gut microbiota develops in pigeons, particularly in relation to pigeon milk, is importance in pigeon production. This study aims to elucidate the establishment characteristics of the gut microbiota in White King pigeon squabs and explore the role of pigeon milk in this process.

In this study, we developed and designed the ability of natural lactoferrin-polyethylene glycol-polyphenylalanine-baicalein nanomicelles (LF-PEG-PPhe-Bai) to target and reduce these pathological processes, such as neurological damage and cognitive impairment in the stages of poststroke. Nanomicelles made from biocompatible materials have improved bioavailability and targeted distribution to afflicted brain areas.

With the continuous development of intelligent technology, robot-assisted therapy has become a research hotspot in the upper limb rehabilitation of stroke patients in recent years. Many scholars have also integrated robot-assisted therapy with other interventions to improve rehabilitation outcomes.

This study investigated the protective effects of the β2-adrenergic receptor (β2-AR) agonist clenbuterol against ischemia/reperfusion-induced arrhythmias and the underlying mechanism. Anesthetized rats were subjected to 10-min left coronary artery occlusion and 10-min reperfusion in vivo.

Introduction: Mitochondria are essential organelles that provide energy for plants. They are semi-autonomous, maternally inherited, and closely linked to cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) in plants. , a widely used medicinal plant from the Caprifoliaceae family, is rich in chlorogenic acid (CGA) and its analogues, which are known for their antiviral and anticancer properties.

Methods: Between November 2023 and May 2024, 206 children with cancer were recruited from a pediatric oncology ward at a tertiary hospital. Negative emotions, family functioning, and screen time were assessed using the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21, Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scales, Second Edition, Chinese Version, and Screen Time Questionnaire, respectively.
Cellulose composites have exceptional qualities, particularly in removing heavy metal ions. Nevertheless, these materials' poor mechanical qualities and the restricted exposure of surface-active sites reduce the effectiveness of their removal. The removal efficiency of adsorbent materials largely depends on their macroscopic structural characteristics.

The dual process model proposes that spontaneous thinking and deliberate thinking drive the dwell in and the transitions between different mental states during creative thinking, but there is a debate over whether the two types of thinking operate in parallel or in sequence. To address these gaps, we conducted a functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) study in 41 college students during a creative storytelling task.

We aimed to develop a digital scale that overcame low education for community screening for mild cognitive impairment (MCI) due to Alzheimer's disease (AD) and AD.
Methods: A mobile cognitive self-assessment scale (CogSAS) was designed through the Delphi process, which is feasible for the older population with low education.
Polymyxin E (PME), a polymyxin antibiotic, serves as a final resort against antibiotic resistance. Nephrotoxicity is the primary concern when employing PME. To alleviate this issue, researchers have explored strategies including dosing adjustments and innovative formulations.

In this study, the aim is to analyze the metabolomic profiles of HIV/AIDS patients co-infected with SARS-CoV-2 and to identify biomarkers indicative of co-infection. In this study, we conducted a retrospective cohort analysis of peripheral blood samples collected from 30 HIV/AIDS patients co-infected with SARS-CoV-2 (pc group) and 30 patients without SARS-CoV-2 (nc group).

Here, we investigate the impact of liver-projecting vagal sensory neurons on energy balance, hepatic steatosis, and anxiety-like behavior in mice under obesogenic conditions. A small subset of vagal sensory neurons innervate the liver and project centrally to the nucleus of the tractus solitarius, area postrema, and dorsal motor nucleus of the vagus, and peripherally to the periportal areas in the liver.

Cu has been regarded as one of the most powerful contenders in catalyzing CO2 conversion, yet the precise manipulation of its surface state and the nearby chemical environment continues to pose a formidable challenge. In this work, we report a high-efficiency catalyst by utilizing CeO2 and pure silicon zeolite (S1) to co-activate Cu species.

Studies have shown that ferroptosis plays an important role in the pathogenesis of NAFLD. Herein, we have developed a viscosity-sensitive fluorescence probe PTSO with near-infrared emission and a large Stokes shift, which were achieved by introducing the sulfone group into the dioxothiochromen-malononitrile fluorophore as an electron-withdrawing group.
