Background: The Immunoscore was initially established to evaluate the prognosis of stage I/II/III colorectal cancer patients. However, the feasibility of the Immunoscore for the prognosis of colorectal cancer liver metastases (CRCLM) has not been reported.
Methods: Liver metastases in 249 CRCLM patients were retrospectively analyzed.
Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are involved in the pathology of various tumors, including colorectal cancer (CRC). However, the role of lncRNA in CRC liver metastasis remains unclear. a microarray was performed to identify the differentially expressed lncRNAs between CRC tissues with and without liver metastasis.

However, whether such a sex-dependent risk of depression and efficacy of antidepressants is dependent on endogenous estrogen level remain elusive. The aim of this study is to explore the molecular mechanisms of sex differences in antidepressant duloxetine.

However, patient selection criteria for optimizing the use of adjuvant therapies are lacking. In this study, we developed and validated a nomogram to predict the individualized overall survival (OS) benefit of ART among patients with resected ≥stage IB GC.

The present study aimed to clarify the relationship between cytochrome P450 (CYP)1A1 and CYP1B1 promoter CpG island methylation and isoniazid‑induced liver injury in rats, and to explore the possible mechanism, rats were given an intragastric dose of isoniazid (55 mg·kg‑1·d‑1). High performance liquid chromatography was used to analyze the DNA methylation level of the whole genome in liver tissue.

The underlying mechanism for cisplatin resistance in ESCC remains largely obscure. Here we report that entinostat reversed cisplatin resistance in ESCC both in vitro and in vivo by induction of apoptosis and inhibition of cell proliferation, accompanied by a decrease of multidrug resistance gene 1 (MDR1), P-Src, Mcl-1, Cyclin D1 and an increase of cleaved PARP.

One such mechanism by which it exerts its antitumor activity is antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity, which has been reported to be influenced by and polymorphisms. This study is the first to assess their impact on trastuzumab efficacy in patients with metastatic gastric cancer.

Melanocytes in the hair follicle show cyclic activity with hair cycling, which transitions from anagen, catagen to telogen. How the hairs turn gray during aging is not completely uncovered.

Several studies have reported the association between the pathologic response and clinical outcomes of colorectal cancer patients with liver metastases who underwent hepatectomy. However, to date, no data from Chinese patients have been reported.

In mice, mutations in IFT proteins have been shown to cause several ciliopathies including retinal degeneration, polycystic kidney disease, and hearing loss. However, little is known about its role in the formation of the sperm tail, which has the longest flagella of mammalian cells.

Therefore, it is crucial to determine the nature of the exposed facets of oxides in order to develop the facet/morphology-property relationships and rationally design nanostructures with desired properties. Despite the extensive applications of electron microscopy for visualizing the facet structure of nanocrystals, the volumes sampled by such techniques are very small and may not be representative of the whole sample.

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are critical regulators in various diseases including human cancer. In this study, we found that lncRNA XIST was overexpressed in CRC cell lines and tissues.

However, its biological function in ESCC is unknown. The present study was designed to further validate the prognostic value of preoperative plasma hyperfibrinogenemia and evaluate the biological role of fibrinogen, as well as the underlying mechanism in ESCC.

Therefore, development of effective and convenient anticaries vaccines is a priority of dental research. Here we generated self-assembling nanoparticles by linking the glucan-binding region of Streptococcus mutans glucosyltransferase (GLU) to the N-terminal domain of ferritin to determine whether these novel nanoparticles enhanced the immunogenicity of an anticaries protein vaccine against GLU in rodents.

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are greater than 200 nucleotides without protein-coding potential and play critical roles in tumorigenesis, cell differentiation, and cancer metastasis. Colon cancer-associated transcript 2 (CCAT2), a newly identified lncRNA, was shown to be dysregulated in cancers.

Background: Chronic hypoxia-induced pulmonary hypertension and vascular remodeling have been shown to be associated with ornithine decarboxylase 1 (ODC1). However, few animal studies have investigated the role of ODC1 in acute hypoxia.
Objectives: We investigated ODC1 gene expression, morphologic and functional changes, and the effect of L-arginine as an attenuator in lung tissues of rats exposed to acute hypobaric hypoxia at a simulated altitude of 6000 m.
Neuronal necrosis occurs during early phase of ischemic insult. However, our knowledge of neuronal necrosis is still inadequate. To study the mechanism of neuronal necrosis, we previously established a Drosophila genetic model of neuronal necrosis by calcium overloading through expression of a constitutively opened cation channel mutant.

A total of 24 patients with APGC treated at the Liaocheng People's Hospital between January 2011 and December 2013 were retrospectively reviewed. Clinical efficacy and patient safety were compared between the two groups.

Methods And Results: The clinical data of twelve patients diagnosed as diabetic combined pulmonary mucormycosis were analyzed by the clinical manifestations, imaging features, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of this disease. Patients from January 1999 to June 2015 in our hospital had poor blood glucose control and varying degrees of diabetic chronic complications with an on average of diabetes 8.

Previous studies indicated a benefit from the addition of rhLTα-Da to cisplatin-based treatment in patients with metastatic esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. The current study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of rhLTα-Da plus cisplatin and fluorouracil (PF) in patients with mESCC.
