Background: The 2021 WHO Classification of Central Nervous System Tumors introduces more molecular markers for glioma reclassification, including TERT promoter (TERTp) mutation as a key feature in glioblastoma diagnosis.
Aims: Given the changes in the entities included in each subtype under the new classification, this research investigated the distribution, prognostic value, and correlations with other molecular alterations of TERTp mutation in different subgroups under this latest classification.
Methods: All glioma patients admitted to Peking Union Medical College Hospital for surgical resection or biopsy from 2011 to 2022 were included.

Herein, a series of novel CDK4/6 and HDAC dual-targeting inhibitors based on the moiety of palbociclib were designed and synthesized. Surprisingly, we discovered that ipRGC activation enhances the orientation selectivity of layer 2/3 neurons in the primary visual cortex (V1) of mice by both increasing preferred-orientation responses and narrowing tuning bandwidth. Mechanistically, we found that the tuning properties of V1 excitatory and inhibitory neurons are differentially influenced by ipRGC activation, leading to a reshaping of the excitatory/inhibitory balance that enhances visual cortical orientation selectivity.

Background: The relationship between dietary folate intake and prior mortality in adult patients with Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) has not been clearly studied. We aimed to examine the relationship between dietary folate intake and all-cause and cardiovascular (CVD) mortality in adult NAFLD patients in the US.
Methods: Using data from National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2003-2018 and associated mortality data we conducted a cohort study of US adult NAFLD subjects.
DNA methylation is mainly catalyzed by three DNA methyltransferase (DNMT) proteins in mammals. Usually DNMT1 is considered the primary DNMT for maintenance DNA methylation, whereas DNMT3A and DNMT3B function in de novo DNA methylation. In response to these limitations of existing packaging materials, we developed a novel antibacterial packaging film by incorporating titanium dioxide (TiO)- tetra(4-carboxyphenyl) porphyrin (TcPP) conjugates into cellulose nanofibrils (CNF) films. Unlike conventional antimicrobial packaging, this film harnesses visible light energy to excite electrons from TcPP to TiO, generating reactive oxygen species (ROS) that inactivate bacteria without relying on antibiotics.
