The growth and reproduction of microorganisms are dependent on nutrient supply. Here, Milk and LB media were utilized as nutrition sources for Escherichia coli, and the changes in bacterial and secretory proteins at 3 time points (3, 9, and 18 h) in the growth cycle were studied using a label-free proteomics technique. The findings revealed that the abundances of bacterial intracellular proteins inosine/xanthosine triphosphatase and universal stress protein F increase dramatically during the growth phase in milk and LB media.

Inducing tumor cell differentiation is a promising strategy for treating malignant cancers, including glioma, yet the critical regulator(s) underlying glioma cell differentiation is poorly understood. Here, we identify G Protein Subunit Alpha O1 (GNAO1) as a critical regulator of neural differentiation of glioma stem-like cells (GSCs). GNAO1 expression was lower in gliomas than in normal neuronal tissues and high expression of GNAO1 correlated with a better prognosis.

Background: Enzymatic crosslinking is a method that can be used to modify Inca peanut albumin (IPA) using polyphenols, and provides desirable functionalities; however, the effect of polyphenol structures on conjugate properties is unclear. In this study, we selected four polyphenols with different numbers of phenolic hydroxyl groups [para-hydroxybenzoic acid (HBA), protocatechuic acid (PCA), gallic acid (GA), and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG)] for covalent modification of IPA by enzymatic crosslinking, and explored the structure-function changes of the IPA-polyphenol conjugates.
