Background & Aims: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is an aggressive malignancy with few effective treatment options. H3Q5ser, a serotonin-based histone modification mediated by transglutaminase 2 (TGM2), affects diverse biological processes, such as neurodevelopment. The role of TGM2-mediated H3Q5ser in HCC progression remains unclear.

However, such approaches remain scarce due to the weak interactions between AFB and the sensing probes. Herein, the first example of a dual-excitation fluorescent platform for antibody-free AFB detection is reported, which is assembled by an ordered π-π stack of cationic perylene derivative (PTHA) and tris(2,2'-bipyridine)ruthenium(II) [Ru(bpy)].

This combination may lead to a mutually exacerbating vicious cycle. Tumor-associated metabolic conditions primarily affect subcutaneous adipose tissue, but the nature and direction of its relationship with skeletal muscle are unclear.

Background: Despite extensive research, the identification of effective biomarkers for early prediction of preterm birth (PTB) continues to be a challenging endeavor. This study aims to identify amniotic fluid (AF) protein biomarkers useful for the early diagnosis of PTB.
Methods: We initially identified the protein expression profiles in the AF of women with PTB (n = 22) and full-term birth (FTB, n = 22), from the First People's Hospital of Yunnan Province who underwent amniocentesis from November 2019 to February 2020, using mass spectrometry employing the data-independent acquisition (DIA) technique, and then analyzed differentially expressed proteins (DEPs).
Background: Acromelic dysplasia caused by mutation includes acromicric dysplasia (AD), geleophysic dysplasia 2 (GD2), and Weill-Marchesani syndrome 2 (WMS2). All three diseases share severe short stature and brachydactyly. Besides phenotypic similarity, there is a molecular genetic overlap among them, as identical gene mutations have been identified in patients with AD, GD2, and WMS2.

However, the causal relationship between these variables remains uncertain. In this research, instrumental variables (IVs) related to mtDNA copy number and TL were obtained from publicly available genome-wide association studies (GWAS).

This condition is distinguished by its abrupt onset, swift progression, and notably elevated mortality rate.
Aim: To gather clinical data from patients with ANVUGIB at our hospital in order to elucidate the clinical characteristics specific to our institution and analyze the therapeutic effectiveness of endoscopic hemostasis.
Non-radical activation of persulfate (PS) by photocatalysts is an effective approach for removing organic pollutants from aqueous environments. In this study, a novel BiO/BiOI heterojunction was synthesized using a facile solvothermal approach and used for the first time for non-radical activation of PS to degrade propranolol (PRO) in the presence of visible light. The findings found that the degradation rate of PRO in the BiO/BiOI/PS system was significantly increased from 19% to more than 90% within 90 min compared to the BiO/BiOI system.

Following resistance to ALK-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), regimens incorporating platinum-based dual agents or combined with bevacizumab often show effectiveness. However, therapeutic alternatives become constrained after resistance develops to both TKIs and platinum-based therapies.

Herein, a series of X-doped MoS/CuS with multilevel honeycomb structures (X-MoS/CuS MHs, X = P, Si, Ge) were designed by space-confined growth and in situ sulfidation of a polyoxometalate-based metal-organic framework. X-MoS/CuS MHs possess low density, high surface area, and abundant cation-cuprum and anion-sulfur double vacancies ( and ) simultaneously that are unmatched by conventional EMWA materials.

Here, we aimed to investigate the mechanism of CTNNB1 HCC-mediated immune escape and raise a new therapeutic strategy to enhance anti-PD-1 efficacy in HCC.
Design: RNA sequencing was performed to identify the key downstream genes of CTNNB1 associated with immune escape.
Timely liver function recovery (LFR) is crucial for postoperative hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients. Here, we established the significance of LFR on patient long-term survival through retrospective and prospective cohorts and identified a key gut microbe, Bifidobacterium longum, depleted in patients with delayed recovery. Fecal microbiota transfer from HCC patients with delayed recovery to mice similarly impacted recovery time post hepatectomy.

In this work, layer-by-layer stacked amorphous VO@TiCT heterostructures anchored on three-dimensional carbon cloth (3D CC), synthesized by annealing process and subsequent in-situ electrochemical induction, are reported as high capacity and stable cathode for ZIBs. In this composite cathode, amorphous VO@TiCT synergistic heterostructure provides isotropic Zn migration channels and rapid electron transfer kinetics, while the 3D CC substrate can ensure that the bulk phase in the electrode material is also utilized to maximize the synergistic effect.

However, the capability of current methods is limited to population-scale identification of cell phenotyping. To address this challenge, we propose to utilize dispersive phase microscopy incorporated with a droplet-based microfluidic system that combines droplet volume-on-demand generation, biomolecular imaging, and droplet-on-demand sorting, to achieve high-throughput screening of cells with an identified phenotype.

Fucoidans, discovered in 1913, are fucose-rich sulfated polysaccharides extracted mainly from brown seaweed. These versatile and nontoxic marine-origin heteropolysaccharides have a wide range of favorable biological activities, including antitumor, immunomodulatory, antiviral, antithrombotic, anticoagulant, antithrombotic, antioxidant, and lipid-lowering activities. In the early 1980s, fucoidans were first recognized for their role in supporting the immune response and later, in the 1990s, their effects on immune potentiation began to emerge.
