Periodontal ligament fibroblasts (PDLFs) play a crucial role in the etiology of periodontitis and periodontal tissue regeneration. In healthy periodontal tissues, PDLFs maintain the homeostasis of periodontal soft and hard tissues as well as the local immune microenvironment. PDLFs also have the potential for multidirectional transdifferentiation and are involved in periodontal tissue regeneration.

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) Building and Strengthening Infection Control Strategies (TB BASICS) aimed to achieve improvements in TB infection prevention and control (IPC) through structured training and mentorship.
Methods: TB BASICS was implemented in six Chinese provinces from 2017-2019. Standardized, facility-based risk assessments tailored to inpatient, laboratory, and outpatient departments were conducted quarterly for 18 months.
Aim: We aimed to examine the influence of various prognostic factors on the outcome of external auditory canal (EAC) cancer and create a graphical prediction tool, marking a first in this field, premised on these determinants.
Methods: We retrospectively analysed 173 patients with EAC cancer, making this the largest patient cohort in the literature. Survival analysis was performed using the Kaplan-Meier method, and the log-rank test was used to assess the differences between established prognostic variables.
Biobleaching is an eco-friendly strategy that can reduce costs and pollution in the pulp and paper industry. Herein, an effective biobleaching approach was proposed using a novel multi-enzyme complex. The multi-enzyme complex was constructed based on mini-cellulosome scaffolding protein integrated with laccase (BpLac) and xylanase (BpXyn) from Bacillus pumilus.

Herein, we compared the application of TINB and UINB for analgesia after uniportal video-assisted lobectomy.
Methods: Sixty patients were randomly allocated into two groups: UINB and TINB.
Background: The humanized anti-disialoganglioside-2 monoclonal antibody naxitamab was approved in the USA in 2020 for the treatment of patients with relapsed/refractory high-risk neuroblastoma, limited to the bone or bone marrow, in combination with granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor. Treatment with naxitamab under expanded access was initiated by physicians from the Children's Hospital of Fudan University, Shanghai, China, in August 2021.
Objective: We reviewed all suspected adverse reactions (ARs) reported to the Y-mAbs Argus Global Pharmacovigilance Safety Database for patients treated with naxitamab under expanded access in China from 1 August 2021 to 31 July 2022.
Asthma is a chronic inflammatory respiratory disease characterized by recurrent breathing difficulties caused by airway obstruction and hypersensitivity. Although there is diversity in their specific mechanisms, microRNAs (miRNAs) have a significant impact on the development of asthma. Currently, the contribution of miR-130b-3p to asthma remains elusive.

Aim: To determine the effect of remote support courses on the mental health of parents and the development of autistic children.
Methods: Parents of 140 autistic children were randomly assigned to two groups receiving a 2-week intervention: The control group received caregiver-mediated intervention (CMI); the experimental group received CMI with remote family psychological support courses (R-FPSC).
Electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction reaction (NRR) is a very attractive strategy for ammonia synthesis due to its energy savings and sustainability. However, the ammonia yield and Faraday efficiency of electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction have been challenges due to low nitrogen solubility and competitive hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in electrolyte solution. Herein, inspired by the asymmetric wetting behavior, i.

Psychological stress disrupts ovarian function, leading to adverse fertilization outcomes, premature ovarian insufficiency and decreased ovarian reserve. Furthermore, psychological stress caused by decreased ovarian function and infertility can exacerbate the mental burden.

In this study, texenomycins were identified and isolated from the fungus strain TTI-0396 and showed effective antifungal properties against two plant pathogens and . Through analysis of the whole-genome data of strain TTI-0396, we discovered a hybrid PKS-NRPS system with the polyketide synthase (PKS: TexQ), thioesterase (TexO), acyl-CoA ligase (TexI), and three nonribosomal peptide synthetases (NRPSs: TexG, TexJ, TexV) in the gene cluster that were proposed to be responsible for the biosynthesis of texenomycins and another related lipopeptaibol, lipohexin.

Parenting styles and peer victimization were reported to affect MPD, but their interaction and the mechanism underlying this association still need to be explored. This study aimed to examine how these factors affect MPD in adolescents with depression.

Methods: A comprehensive search of PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and the Cochrane Library was conducted from their inception through March 2024, without restrictions on language or location. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing the efficacy of conservative treatments for stress urinary incontinence, using short-term pad test or the International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire-Urinary Incontinence Short Form (ICIQ-UI SF) score as outcome measures, were included.
Objectives: Cerebral ischemic stroke is a leading cause of death worldwide. Though timely reperfusion reduces the infarction size, it exacerbates neuronal apoptosis due to oxidative stress. Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) is a transcription factor regulating the expression of antioxidant enzymes.

This study aims to evaluate the diagnostic performance of multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) and prostate-specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PSMA PET/CT) for PSA grey zone PCa and clinically significant PCa (csPCa).
Methods: A total of 82 patients with PSA levels ranging from 4 to 10 ng/mL who underwent F-PSMA-1007 PET/CT, mpMRI, and prostate biopsy were prospectively enrolled.

As research into the mechanisms of orthopedic diseases continues to deepen, the shortcomings of traditional single-target the-rapies are becoming increasingly apparent. Consequently, the search for multi-target drugs has become the mainstream research direction for orthopedics-related diseases. Artemisinin, a sesquiterpene lactone compound extracted from Artemisia annua, has led to the gradual synthesis of various derivatives such as dihydroartemisinin, artesunate, artemether, and arteether.
