Background: Inflammatory diseases impair the reparative properties of endothelial progenitor cells (EPC); however, the involvement of diabetes in EPC dysfunction associated with myocardial infarction (MI) remains unknown.
Methods: A model was established combining high-fat diet (HFD)/streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic mice with myocardial infarction. The therapeutic effects of transplanted wild-type EPC, Nlrp3 knockout EPC, and Nlrp3 overexpression EPC were evaluated.
Aim: To evaluate the effects of exercise versus without-exercise group on global cognitive function, executive function, glycated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) and fasting plasma glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and cognitive impairment.
Methods: A systematic search of Cqvip, SinoMed, Wanfang Data, CINAHL, Cochrane, Embase, Pubmed, Lippincott, Web of Science and Scopus was carried out. Randomized control trials were selected.
Objective: Assessing the nutritional nursing competence of clinical nurses will enable nursing managers to develop measures to effectively address the nutritional nursing needs of patients. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the status quo and influencing factors of nutritional nursing competence of nurses in China.
Method: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among more than 1300 clinical nurses from 10 provinces in eastern, central and western China by using self-designed socio-demographic questionnaire and nutrition nursing ability scale compiled by Zhu Xinyi.
G9a, a histone lysine methyltransferase, is instrumental in regulating gene expression through epigenetic modifications. Its overexpression is closely linked to the progression of various human diseases, including cancers. Therefore, targeting G9a enzyme is a promising strategy for treating various diseases.

In this study, an intelligent nanoparticle system (CCM+TTD@ZIF-8 NPs) was prepared using curcumin (CCM), an aggregation-induced emission luminogens (TTD), and ZIF-8 for infection-induced wound healing. The CCM+TTD@ZIF-8 NPs showed multiple functions, including bacteria targeting, fluorescence imaging and pH response-guided photodynamic therapy (PDT), and anti-inflammatory.

Here, we reported that high-temperature (HT) stress (day/night, 35 °C/30 °C) reduces both the grain-filling rate and grain weight of Ningjing 1 variety compared to normal temperatures (NT, day/night, 28 °C/23 °C).

However, there have been few studies of Y-chromosome-specific genes in non-model species due to the incomplete information of Y chromosome genome and difficulty in sequencing. Here, we screened 90 candidate Y-specific sequences in a constructed transcriptome assembly library by using the chromosome quotient method, among which 11 were unreported sequences associated with male reproductive development, including Bactrocera dorsalis Y-specific Oligozoospermia factor (Bdyof) with the highest expression in the testis.

The natural allelochemical bacillamide A has displayed impressive algicidal activity against harmful algae with favorable safety profiles. However, the poor synthetic efficiency and large dose requirements of bacillamide A limit its further application.

The calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR) is expressed in endothelial cells (ECs) but its role in endothelial inflammation during AS remains unclear.

Both gut symbiotic bacteria and pathobionts can provide essential functions to their host in one scenario and yet be detrimental to host health in another. So, these gut-dwelling bacteria must be tightly controlled to avoid harmful effects on the host.

Despite the availability of a variety of antimicrobial drugs, the resistance exhibited by pathogenic microorganisms towards these drugs demonstrates a consistent upward trajectory year after year. This trend can be attributed to the abuse or misuse of antibiotics.

However, whether this effect is limited to certain bacterial species remains largely unclear, and the relevant underlying mechanisms remain to be thoroughly investigated.
Results: We found that the microbiota was required for Bactrocera dorsalis larval growth under poor dietary conditions.
Zinc (Zn) and selenium (Se) are beneficial elements for crops, enhancing crop quality and alleviating heavy metal toxicity. However, there is limited research on the role of foliar Zn and Se in the mechanism of reducing cadmium (Cd) uptake in crops. A field experiment was conducted to investigate the effect on subcellular distribution, leaf antioxidant enzyme activities, and the transcriptional regulation in the process of Cd accumulation of rice grains after foliar applications of Zn, Se, and their mixed solutions (ZnSe).

For a given image, GSR needs to identify the key verb, the nouns corresponding to roles, and their bounding-box groundings. However, current GSR research demands numerous meticulously labeled images, which are labor-intensive and time-consuming, making it costly to expand detection categories.

Mutations in the PRPF6 gene can lead to retinitis pigmentosa (RP), a common inherited retinal disease characterized by progressive degeneration of retinal pigment epithelium and photoreceptors. Here, we generated an induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) line carrying the PRPF6 c.

Therefore, the aim of this study was to identify biomarkers associated with necroptosis in IDD.
Purpose: To explore biomarkers associated with necroptosis in IDD, reveal the pathogenesis of IDD, as well as provide new directions for the diagnosis and treatment of this disease.
Background: The respiratory microbiota plays a crucial role in the development of tuberculosis (TB). While existing research has underscored imbalances in the respiratory microbiota of adult patients with TB, information regarding the lower respiratory tract (LRT) microbiota in pediatric patients with TB remains scarce.
Methods: We employed 16S rRNA gene sequencing technology to investigate the LRT microbial communities of 85 children of different ages with active TB of different severities, 33 children with infectious diseases other than TB, and 48 sex- and age-matched healthy children.

RNAi-mediated crop protection by foliar application is a promising approach in field trials. However, the effect of this approach on piercing-sucking pests is far from satisfactory due to the limited uptake and transport of double strand RNA (dsRNA) in plants.
