Association study of depressive symptoms and periodontitis in an obese population: Analysis based on NHANES data from 2009 to 2014.

Background: Obesity, depressive symptoms, and periodontitis are major worldwide health concerns. Despite separate studies on both illnesses, no research has directly examined the link between depressive symptoms and periodontitis in obese people. Given the close correlation between obesity and chronic illnesses, as well as the possibility of a bidirectional impact between depressive symptoms and periodontitis, this study aims to investigate the link between depressive symptoms and periodontitis in an obese population.

Purpose: To elucidate the genetic basis of primary angle-closure glaucoma (PACG) by identifying pathogenic tissue and critical tissue-specific variants.

Methods: The correlations among PACG susceptibility, axial length (AL), and anterior chamber depth (ACD) were evaluated using meta-analyses. Propensity score matching was utilized on 2161 participants from the Handan Eye Study to determine the risk factors independent of ACD and AL for PACG.

Objective: Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) to the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (L-DLPFC) has an improving effect in cognitive function, but it is still not clear in what specific cognitive domains. We here combined a single session of TMS (HF-rTMS/iTBS) with electroencephalography (EEG) to clarify the effects of magnetic stimulation techniques on executive function, working memory, and visuospatial attention in healthy participants, and to investigate the underlying neurophysiological mechanisms.

Methods: Fifty-one healthy participants were randomly assigned to three stimulation groups (HF-rTMS, iTBS, and sham groups).

The objective of this study was to establish the association between CMI and periodontitis by analyzing data from the NHANES (National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey) database.

Methods And Analysis: In total, 215 and 259 eyes with PACS and non-PACS (NPACS), respectively, were enrolled in this observational, cross-sectional study. Stereoscopic fundus and optical coherence tomography images were used to characterise β-PPA; the former was also used to measure the major β-PPA parameters.

Efficacy of Morning Versus Evening Latanoprost/Timolol Fixed Combination for Open-Angle Glaucoma and Ocular Hypertension: A Randomized Clinical Trial.

Purpose: To compare the efficacy of morning and evening latanoprost/timolol fixed-combination (LTFC) dosing in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) and ocular hypertension.

Methods: In this double-blind, randomized clinical trial, 63 untreated Chinese patients with POAG and ocular hypertension were enrolled. All patients received LTFC and were randomized (1:1) to group 1, morning (8 AM) dosing, or group 2, evening (8 PM) dosing.

However, few studies have evaluated the opinions of practicing dentists on patient medical histories. Questions remain on dentists' information needs; their perception of the reliability of patient-reported medical history; satisfaction with the available information and the methods to gather this information; and their attitudes to other options, such as a health information exchange (HIE) network, to collect patient medical history.

Decoupling Electrochromism and Energy Storage for Flexible Quasi-Solid-State Aqueous Electrochromic Batteries with High Energy Density.

Currently, reported aqueous electrochromic batteries (ECBs) show only limited capacity with insufficient energy density and power density. Such a limitation is naturally imposed by the rationale that the cathode of ECBs stores charge by an ion intercalation/deintercalation mechanism, where the inherent inhibition of ion diffusion and structural collapse of cathode materials through repetitive charge/discharge cycles lead to low areal capacity and unsatisfactory electrochemical performance with short lifetime. Herein, we decouple the dual functions of electrochromism and energy storage in conventional cathodes of ECBs by introducing a polyaniline/triiodide composite cathode that is formed by direct electrolysis of an iodide-based quasi-solid-state aqueous electrolyte during charging.

Electric vehicles have received extensive attention due to their unique energy efficiency and good emission reduction effects. While a large-scale of electric vehicles are gradually replacing traditional fuel vehicles, it is necessary to ensure the energy efficiency of electric vehicles and the effectiveness of their emission reduction effects. This study conducted a bibliometric analysis of scientific publications on energy efficiency and emission reduction effects of electric vehicles from 2003 to 2022, using a variety of bibliometric tools such as R Studio, biblioshiny and VOSviewer.

Brentuximab vedotin plus AVD for Hodgkin lymphoma: incidence and management of peripheral neuropathy in a multisite cohort.

Brentuximab vedotin (BV) in combination with doxorubicin, vinblastine, and dacarbazine (AVD) is increasingly used for frontline treatment of stage III/IV classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL). Peripheral neuropathy (PN) was the most common and treatment-limiting side effect seen in clinical trials but has not been studied in a nontrial setting, in which clinicians may have different strategies for managing it. We conducted a multisite retrospective study to characterize PN in patients who received BV + AVD for newly diagnosed cHL.
