In response to issues such as high miss-seeding rates and uneven seed grain distribution during the operation of the pendulum-lever camshaft hole seeders under the compound planting mode of corn and soybeans in hilly mountainous areas, a method for optimizing the hole seeders by adjusting movable pendulum-lever angle and the number of cam roller groups is proposed. By analyzing the motion process and mechanism of hole formation of the hole-forming device, it was possible to elucidate the influence of the movable pendulum-lever angle and cam roller group number on the improvement of seeding quality. Based on the DEM-MBD coupled simulation, single-factor simulation experiments were conducted using the hole seeders shaft speed, movable pendulum- lever angle, and cam roller group number as test factors, with the seed grain qualification rate, reseeding rate, and miss-seeding rate as test indicators.

Silver nanoclusters (AgNCs) have shown broad application prospects in catalysis, sensing, and biological fields. However, the limited stability of AgNCs has become the main challenge restricting their practical application in complex environments. Herein, a mussel-inspired, dopamine-assisted self-assembly approach is reported to fabricate 3D AgNC aerogels (PDA/AgNCs), which possess significantly enhanced structural stability and synergistic functional properties.

Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs) are characterized by dysregulated inflammatory responses, increased reactive oxygen species (ROS), and compromised intestinal barrier function. Current clinical treatments often yield suboptimal responses and significant side effects. Given the great potential of (AKK) bacterial membrane components in IBD treatment and the possible pathogenicity of live bacteria, to essentially address these challenges, we develop a natural membrane-based single-cell coating, incorporating a self-assembled AKK bacterial membrane (AKM) and astaxanthin (AST), forming a protective biological barrier on probiotics.

Interest in understanding the high chemoresistance and poor prognosis of advanced ovarian clear cell carcinoma (OCCC) is rising. Patient-derived xenografts (PDX) are widely used in vivo models because of their supposedly accurate morphologic and (epi)genetic representation of patient tumors. Here, we established five subcutaneous OCCC PDXs.

Single-cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq) techniques can measure gene expression at single-cell resolution but lack spatial information. Spatial transcriptomics (ST) techniques simultaneously provide gene expression data and spatial information. However, the data quality of the spatial resolution or gene coverage is still much lower than the quality of the single-cell transcriptomics data.

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (Aldh2) Glu504Lys mutation, common in East Asians, is linked to various alcohol-related pathologies, notably fatty liver disease. Recent findings suggest that high ethanol-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae(HiAlc Kpn) exacerbates liver injury in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Our study investigated the combined effects of Aldh2 deficiency and HiAlc Kpn on NAFLD liver injury, transcriptome analyses to unearth potential mechanisms and therapeutic targets.

Article Synopsis
  • The study examines how varying annealing temperatures affect the microstructure, chemical composition, phase structure, and piezoelectric properties of ZnO films.
  • Findings indicate that while annealing generally increases grain size and improves crystal structure, too much heat can degrade the structure due to changes in oxygen content.
  • ZnO films annealed at 400 °C show the best piezoelectric performance, indicating the importance of optimizing annealing conditions for sensor applications.

Gold nanoclusters (AuNCs) have garnered significant attention in biomedical applications, particularly in biosensing, cancer therapy, and imaging, due to their unique optical property, good biocompatibility, and distinct bioactivity. Understanding the cellular uptake behavior of AuNCs is critical to improve the efficacy of their applications, whose mechanism has not been adequately validated. In this work, we synthesized AuNCs with varying surface modifications to quantify the exact law of surface charge on the cellular uptake of AuNCs in a multidimensional manner by using 3D multicellular tumor spheroids of both HeLa cells and MCF-7 cells as the model system.

As an important biological indicator, the abnormity of the lysozyme level is closely related to many diseases. Herein, we devise a novel ratiometric fluorescence aptasensor for lysozyme based on the controllable excimer formation of a perylene probe, N, N'-bis(6-caproic acid)-3,4:9,10-perylene diimide (PDI) induced by cationic silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs). Binding of lysozyme aptamer with multiple phosphate groups to cationic Ag NPs strongly hinders the formation of excimer, yielding intense monomer fluorescence of PDI probe.

Drug development for Alzheimer's disease Is extremely challenging, as demonstrated by the repeated failures of amyloid-β-targeted therapeutics and the controversies surrounding the amyloid-β cascade hypothesis. More recently, advances in the development of Lecanemab, an anti-amyloid-β monoclonal antibody, have shown positive results in reducing brain A burden and slowing cognitive decline in patients with early- stage Alzheimer's disease in the Phase III clinical trial (Clarity Alzheimer's disease). Despite these promising results, side effects such as amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA) may limit its usage.

Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT) is an autosomal dominant vascular disorder with manifestations including severe nose bleeding and microhemorrhage in brains. Despite being the second most common inherited bleeding disorder, the pathophysiological mechanism underlying HHT-associated hemorrhage is poorly understood. HHT pathogenesis is thought to follow a Knudsonian two-hit model, requiring a second somatic mutation for lesion formation.

Selective conversion of syngas to value-added higher alcohols (containing two or more carbon atoms), particularly to a specific alcohol, is of great interest but remains challenging. Here we show that atomically intimate assembly of FeO-Rh-ZrO dual interfaces by selectively architecting highly dispersed FeO on ultrafine raft-like Rh clusters supported on tetragonal zirconia enables highly efficient tandem conversion of syngas to ethanol. The ethanol selectivity in oxygenates reached ~90% at CO conversion up to 51%, along with a markedly high space-time yield of ethanol of 668.

Bromodomain-containing protein 4 (BRD4) is the most promising target for the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). However, its inherent resistant and acquired drug resistance limits its potential clinical application. Recently it has been shown that cyclin-dependent kinases 4/6 (CDK4/6) inhibitors can reincrease the sensitivity of TNBC cells to BRD4 inhibitors by combination therapy, so we designed a series of dual target CDK6/BRD4 inhibitors.
