Objective: To describe the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of children diagnosed with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) at Hospital Sungai Buloh, Selangor, Malaysia.

Methods: A retrospective observational study was performed on children aged <12 years diagnosed with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection between January 25 and December 31, 2020. This is the first case report for the positive Trypanosoma evansi incident in Kelantan, Malaysia confirmed through protozoa detection in a Siam B mare. The horse was presented with complaints of lethargy and inappetence and it collapsed on the day of visit. Normal saline and dextrose solution were administered intravenously, while multivitamins and nerve supplements were given intramuscularly to stabilise the horse before further treatment.
