The integration of photothermal therapy (PTT) and gas therapy (GT) on a nanoplatform shows great potential in cancer treatment. In this paper, a tumor-targeted near-infrared/ultraviolet (NIR/UV) triggered PTT/GT synergistic therapeutic nanoplatform, PB-CD-PLL(NF)-FA, was designed based on Prussian blue (PB) nanoparticles, 5-chloro-2-nitrobenzotrifluoro (NF)-grafted polylysine (PLL(NF)), and folic acid (FA). PB serves as a core to load PLL(NF) through host-guest interaction and can further modify FA.

We report a case of a patient with metastatic prostate cancer receiving first-line endocrine therapy. Clinical symptoms, PSA level, and CT confirmed the significant progression of his bone metastatic lesions. In comparison to images at baseline, follow-up bone scan incorrectly showed remission of the bone lesions, whereas follow-up 68Ga-DOTA-IBA correctly showed disease progression.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFEukaryotic cytochrome P450 enzymes, generally colocalizing with their redox partner cytochrome P450 reductase (CPR) on the cytoplasmic surface of organelle membranes, often perform poorly in prokaryotic cells, whether expressed with CPR as a tandem chimera or free-floating individuals, causing a low titer of heterologous chemicals. To improve their biosynthetic performance in Escherichia coli, here, we architecturally design self-assembled alternatives of eukaryotic P450 system using reconstructed P450 and CPR, and create a set of N-termini-bridged P450-CPR heterodimers as the counterparts of eukaryotic P450 system with N-terminus-guided colocalization. The covalent counterparts show superior and robust biosynthetic performance, and the N-termini-bridged architecture is validated to improve the biosynthetic performance of both plant and human P450 systems.

Methods: The frequency, sensitivity, and specificity of acute respiratory disease symptoms among hospitalized and community cohorts of adults with RSV were analyzed. RSV-LRTD signs/symptoms assessed included shortness of breath (dyspnea), cough and/or fever, wheezing/rales/rhonchi (abnormal lung sounds by auscultation), sputum production, tachypnea, hypoxemia, and pleuritic chest pain.
