The prevalence of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in agricultural soils has garnered significant attention. However, the long-term impacts of various nitroge (N)-substitution fertilization regimes on the distribution of soil ARGs and their dominant drivers in a subtropical triple-cropping system remain largely unexplored. This study employed a metagenomic approach to analyze soil ARGs, microbial communities, mobile genetic elements (MGEs), and viruses from a maize-maize-cabbage rotation field experiment with five different fertilization regimes.

Background: More studies explored the prevalence, causes, associated conditions, and therapeutic strategies of narcolepsy. With an increasing focus on understanding narcolepsy's prevalence, associated conditions, and therapeutic strategies, there's a notable absence of bibliometric analyses summarizing trends in research and identifying emerging areas of focus within this field.

Aim: To conduct a bibliometric analysis to investigate the current status and frontiers of narcolepsy.

Myeloid sarcoma (MS) is a rare hematological neoplasm with poor prognosis, posing a significant clinical challenge due to the absence of effective and standardized treatments. We conducted a retrospective analysis of 162 MS patients treated at 12 centers to compare outcomes between intensive chemotherapy and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). Our analysis revealed that allo-HSCT demonstrated superior overall survival (OS) within the initial 36 months compared to intensive chemotherapy alone (p = 0.

Article Synopsis
  • Ferroptosis is a new way that cells can die, caused by damage to their membranes when certain fats build up, especially when there's too much iron or stress.
  • A group of helpers called solute carrier transporters (SLCs) help move important nutrients like sugar and proteins into the cells, which is important for controlling ferroptosis.
  • The study explores how these SLCs can be targeted to help treat diseases like cancer by controlling ferroptosis better.

A novel biphasic system containing water-soluble deep eutectic solvent (DES) and cyclopentyl methyl ether (CPME) was developed to treat Eucalyptus for furfural production, extracting lignin and enhancing cellulose enzymatic hydrolysis. Herein effect of DES type, water content in DES, temperature and time on furfural yield in water-soluble DES/CPME pretreatment process was firstly evaluated. A maximum furfural yield of 80.

A facile biphasic system composed of choline chloride (ChCl)-based deep eutectic solvent (DES) and methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) was developed to realize the furfural production, lignin separation and preparation of fermentable glucose from Eucalyptus in one-pot. Results showed that the ChCl/1,2-propanediol/MIBK system owned the best property to convert hemicelluloses into furfural. Under the optimal conditions (MR = 1:2, raw materials:DES:MIBK ratio = 1:4:8 g/g/mL, 0.

Venous thromboembolism, which includes deep venous thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism, is the third most common vascular disease in the world and seriously threatens the lives of patients. Currently, the effect of conventional treatments on DVT is limited. Endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) play an important role in the resolution and recanalization of DVT, but an unfavorable microenvironment reduces EPC function.

Tomato cultivars with contrasting resistance to pathogens regulate root exudates differentially in response to attacks. However, strategies using innate root exudates against infection remain unknown. This study analyzed the innate root exudates of two tomato cultivars and their functions in regulating infection.

An effective approach for glucose and furfural production by converting cellulose and hemicelluloses from corn stalk in a biphasic system of molten salt hydrate (MSH) and organic solvent using HSO as catalyst was reported. Results showed that the system with LiBr·3HO and dichloromethane (DCM) had excellent performance in cellulose and hemicelluloses conversion. Under the optimal reaction conditions (corn stalk:LiBr·3HO:DCM ratio = 0.

Article Synopsis
  • Ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms (rAAAs) are serious medical problems that can be deadly, and doctors are trying to understand what affects recovery after surgery.
  • This study looked at 39 patients who had surgery for rAAAs and checked their nutrition using a tool called the CONUT score, which helps predict how well they might do after surgery.
  • The results showed that patients with lower nutritional scores (group B) had a higher chance of not surviving for the next few months compared to those with better nutrition (group A).

Background: Reference ranges for bone turnover markers (BTMs) are still lacking in the healthy Chinese population.

Aim: To establish reference intervals for BTMs and to investigate the correlations between BTMs and bone mineral density (BMD) in Chinese older adults.

Subjects And Methods: A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted among 2511 Chinese subjects aged over 50 yrs residing in Zhenjiang, Southeast China.

Background: The aim of this study was to perform hemodynamic simulations of a three-dimension ideal inferior vena cava-iliac vein model with artificial stenosis to determine the degree of stenosis that requires clinical intervention.

Methods: Four three-dimension stenosis models (30%, 50%, 70%, and 90% stenosis) were constructed using commercial software (Solidworks). The inlet flow rates were acquired from previous literatures to perform the hemodynamic simulations.

The developing of pretreatment method to break the biomass barrier of lignocellulosic is a challenging task for achieve high value utilization. A fast microwave-assisted choline chloride/1,2-propanediol/methyl isobutyl ketone biphasic system was constructed for pretreating Eucalyptus to the production of furfural and cellulose-rich residues and the extraction of lignin. Results showed that the combination of AlCl·6HO and HCl had the best catalytic ability for furfural production among the examined catalysts.

Exosomes are nanoscale endocytic vesicles, 30-150 nm in diameter, secreted by most cells. They mainly originate from multivesicular bodies formed by intracellular invagination of lysosomal microparticles, and released into the extracellular matrix after fusion of multivesicular bodies with cell membrane. Studies have shown that exosomes contain a variety of active molecules, such as proteins, lipids and RNAs (such as mRNA, miRNA, lncRNA, circRNA, etc.

Bursicon is a heterodimeric neuropeptide composed of Burs-α and Burs-β subunits that plays an important role in cuticle tanning and wing expansion in insects. In this study, full-length cDNAs of Burs-α (LdBurs-α) and Burs-β (LdBurs-β) genes were identified in gypsy moth (Lymantria dispar) and cloned. The 480 bp and 420 bp open reading frames (ORFs) encode 159 and 129 amino acid polypeptides, respectively.
